Nice loud sound - the cover pops up to easy though.. a firmer close would be noice but dont let that stop you from purchasing...

I wanted to add a siren to our home security system...whose vendor does not offer a siren. I used this siren, pulled a 12V, 500mA power supply from my box of remnants from old accessories, wired it up, and plugged into a smart plug. When I want the siren to go off, I just switch on the smart plug. The siren could be louder, but it does what I need it to do.

This unit is really loud and discreet. Visually, it doesnt stick out and its maybe three times the volume of a deck of cards. Once its operating, though, you definitely know it because of how loud it is.
