I was having issues with tingling, numbness, cramping and pain in feet and calves (I think technical term is peripheral neuropathy). My dr tested Vitb12 levels and found that they were low at 347 (ideal number is between 400-1,100) and recommended I take sublingual methyl b12 1,000mcg. Ive noticed quite an improvement in symptoms after just a few months of daily supplementation. Symptoms arent 100% gone but really have improved so much. I highly recommend Jarrows b12. update 5/14/2015 After taking one a day sublingually for 4+ months, my follow up lab results show that my B12 levels are now at 658. 1,000 mcg is the perfect dosage for me and my dr. is happy with these newest lab results

From the research I did before purchase, Im satisfied Jarrow makes quality vitamins. The taste is nice, not overwhelming and not like a kid product. I got these for my wife because she has tinnitus and they seem to be helping after two weeks of use.

I take this B-12 supplement a few times a week. I am a semi vegetarian and was told to supplement with B-12. I do feel an energy boost from it but not a jitter kind of energy, more like a I wanna go do something kind of energy. My husband also takes this and has said the same thing. A gentle energy boost. No negative side effects at all from either of us. We are both productive during the day and we both sleep great at night. If this review has helped you at all please let me know. Thanks!

And oddly enough, I sleep better on the days I remember to supplement with this product. I tend to have nights of insomnia, but noticed that it never seems to happen when I take this particular B. I also take another B supplement that has other types of B12 in it, but that also has a lot of other things that tend to keep me awake if I take it too late in the day. I like having B12 I can take when I forget the other. I had pernicious anemia so seriously 11 years ago I was on daily injections for almost a year. Must take a sublingual. Also, my daughter and husband who both have celiac disease MUST supplement with B12 and it makes a difference in their energy levels. B12 is absorbed in the area of the small intestine that is destroyed by gluten, so anyone with celiac disease must take the various forms of 12 (there are four--this is the most absorbable and most important one to take if you chose just one--most companies use the cheapest one in formulas but its not very absorbable, especially in the gut-- I cant remember the exact name--). Update: I just posted this but then read the other reviews. A comment on those who say it does not dissolve well: Drink a glass of water PRIOR to taking the pill. Also, move your jaw in a chewing motion to activate the salivary glands for better absorption. This is good to do when drinking a chia drink, juicing, or whenever taking a sublingual.

For two years I suffered horrible esophageal spasms and indigestion, daily, that would go on for hours. I tried everything I could think of and nothing worked. (antacids, etc.) Then one of my friends sent me an article that said one of the symptoms of a B-12 deficiency is digestive problems. A B-12 deficiency seemed a likely possibility since I have had my gallbladder removed and am taking omeprazole. After I had my gallbladder out the indigestion began and eventually got so bad the esophageal spasms started up. Horrible. It would radiate from my stomach up my chest and into my lower jaw, over and over for hours on end. I spent many nights fighting nausea and standing over a sink drooling heavily. I had no idea such misery was possible until it happened to me. I didnt hold much hope that this would work, because nothing else did, but I figured Id try it and if it didnt work Id only be out a few dollars. Within days I was about 80% better. It gets a little better every day. My doctor poo-poohs this but my take on it is: after two years of sheer torture/agony it worked. I dont understand how it worked or why it worked only that it did--and that is good enough for me.

I was not able to taste foods for months. And hot (spicy) foods were painful to eat, as well as very cold foods. No doctor knew (or cared) what to do for me. I was researching vitamin deficiencies one evening, and ran into the Jarrow B-12s. Read that a deficiency in B-12 could mess with tasting food. So, I gave the B-12s a try. In only a few weeks, taking 3 a day, my sense of taste returned, and pain when eating hot, spicy and cold foods subsided. I now take Jarrow regularly.

I found the pills very hard to chew. I grind them up so I dont really taste them. Because of the sickness going around the world I cant go to my Dr for a B 12 shot so I have been using these instead.

If youre going to take B-12 you should think about the form you take. The methyl B12 is the natural form of B12 and it doesnt need to be converted by the liver, whereas if you take the other form and it has to be converted it might not be as effective or might not work at all. Also, methyl-B12 should be in a sublingual form, as this is in order to work best. Jarrow Methyl-B12 1000 mcg sublingual lozenges has everything one would want in a B-12. I buy this one for my kids and hubby, while I take 5000 mcg. Highly recommend!
