Kwikset Halifax, Door Handle Lever Passage Door for Hall and Closet with Microban, Square Rose in Matte Black

Originally purchased these for my home due to the easy rekeying feature which works very well and is extraordinarily easy to do. Being able to easily rekey all locks within seconds to use the same key without buying a more expensive set with more locks or paying a locksmith to do it is very nice. My only complaint about the original version is that the handle and deadbolt knobs have a bit of a sag to them which appears to be a common complaint. Otherwise, functionally, theyre rock solid. For the updated model which this review is for, to an untrained professional such as myself, the inner components appear to be slightly better built, but that could be imagination just looking out for me by trying to convince me that my money was well spent. As for the sag issue I previously mentioned, well, its no longer an issue with these. The door handle has no play in it and sits perfectly horizontal. The deadbolt knobs also have no play in them, either, and they sit perfectly horizontal when unlocked and vertical when locked. Granted, I didnt get out the level to verify my claims of perfection, but to my hands and naked 15/15 eyes, they look and feel great. And of course the rekey feature also still works just as well as it did on the prior model. Will definitely continue buying this line of entry lock.

Very happy with purchase

This is Kwikset Halifax but not the same as the similar looking Kwikset Halifax from Home Depot. They both look quite similar on the exterior. However, the latch does not have sufficient movement to engage the locking hole properly. See picture. The one on top is the one I got from Hime Depot. The one on the bottom is the one from Amazon. They are different model numbers. The mechanism is not made the same. You can see how much less area is available on the Amazon one to engage. It works, but hold just on the outer 20% or so of the latch. As a customer, I see Kwikset Halifax privacy lock in Home Depot. It works great. I love it. I need a second one and I also see Kwikset Halifax privacy lock on Amazon. I think, and so would you, that the two products are the same because they looks the same externally. But they are not. Amazon needs to sell these products with model number CLEARLY displayed to avoid such confusion. I have no idea how this product has such high review rating with such a fundamental design flaw.

When I had my home build, my builders did not put private locks on some of the bedrooms so we have adult guess so we decided to buy some private locks from Amazon and my goodness. They are actually the same color and locks throughout my home. Thanks again Amazon.

Great handle. I’ve tried the $100+ Emtek ones (which I wanted) and the cheaper generic brand ones on here that look the same (mechanically they’re not) and ended with with this. For $35ish. It’s near Emtek’s quality and way superior to the cheap handles on here. The cheap ones feel the same, but when you go to open the door from the back side, it doesn’t actually start opening the latch for about 1/3 the turn, which makes it feel cheap and poorly made. They do look just as good tho. I’m not a fan of how the screws are visible when there are cheaper handles with a plate that hides them, but they aren’t so bad and the ones with the plate to hide are a bit of a hassle to remove if you ever need.

They just installed it in my linen closet and the door won’t close I m really upset over it Never seen anything like that

I bought these to update my new house that had old brass round doorknobs. They’re easy to install, smooth opening and have a new contemporary look. They make my whole house look updated with my other black fixtures

I purchased 8 of Helifax door handles. All through Amazon used in good or like new condition. Only one was usable. People stuff their other cheaper handles they are replacing and send back in the Hellifax box to Amazon for a refund. Then the next person gets the used garbage. I received an assortment of different handles and different colors. 2 were the correct ones but missing essential hardware. I went 1 for 8 in this order and waiting for refunds. The real handle, in new condition is great and feels high quality. Gives my doors a heavier feel and a contemporary modern look.
