> 3 dayI now writing a review, because I told my sister I have had this fan since june 2016, it is now june 2023, so 7 years still going strong. I had to go back through my purchases to prove to her. I run this fan non stop through the summer about 6 months a year. I hope rewriting this review doesnt jinks me haha. But I will most definitely buy this one again. Loud but considering the air it moves I would accept nothing less, also Im used to it does not bother me

> 3 dayThe Lasko floor fan is an impressive piece of machinery, boasting some seriously powerful fan speeds. Even on the lowest setting, this fan is able to circulate air with impressive efficiency, making it a great choice for anyone looking to cool down a room quickly. But where the Lasko really shines is in its higher fan settings. When cranked up to its top speed, this fan can really move some air, creating a refreshing and revitalizing breeze that can help keep you comfortable even on the hottest days. Whether youre looking to cool down a stuffy room or simply need a little extra air circulation, the Lasko floor fan is an excellent choice that wont disappoint.

Great quality fan!!! Definitely worth spending a tiny bit more. Best quality I found for the price. Low noise and max power

> 3 dayPurchased this for a poorly ventilated room in the home I am renting until I can afford a mortgage alongside my student loan debt. I couldn’t be happier with the performance of the fan. The room in question is roughly 85 degrees Fahrenheit and thanks to this fan I barely notice when I’m cranking away on my computer. Many people complain about the noise but I don’t mind it and don’t typically even notice it most of the time. Admittedly that could be down to a lifetime spent with the white noise of a fan in the background. Overall it’s a sturdily built machine, with great air flow and I’m much more confident in this fan versus the plastic Lasko units. I’m of two minds about the lack of a remote control, one one hand it would be a nice convenience. On the other it’s just another failure point and getting up from your seat every now and again is good for you.

> 3 day** update 8/1/20. I’ve updated from 3 to 5 stars. After about a month of using the fan almost daily, the rattling and whirring seems to have worked itself out. Now, just the normal sounds of a high powered fan. I really do love this fan and am happy that I was too lazy to box it up and send back. Ugh. Was really hoping that the reviews I read about strange, very annoying noises were just flukes however... yay lucky me, I got one of the malfunctioning fans! I’ve had this fan for 2 days, and while I love the amount of air it moves, I just cannot deal with the awful noises. On speed 1, it makes a very loud rattling noise. I’m thinking it’s possibly the motor housing/cover? Not sure, as it’s intermittent but way too loud to ignore. This is by far the worst speed in terms of loud, atypical noise. On speed 2, I get the very loud, high pitched whirring/screaming (best way I can think to describe it). I’ve tried for 2 days, but it cannot be ignored. Well that knocks speed 2 out of the usability equation. Speed 3 is the only speed that doesnt make abnormal sounds. This speed is awesome, unfortunately too much air movement for sleeping. The fan is loud in terms of normal fan noises, but I fully expected that with a fan labeled as ‘high velocity’. The awful rattling & whirring/screaming noises on speeds 1 & 2 are certainly not supposed to be happening. Disappointing for a brand new $65 fan that does not oscillate or have a remote control. Returning & undecided if i will try a replacement or go with another brand.

Greater than one weekNeeded a fan for small space. Didnt want a small high speed noisy one with lots of wind blast. Decided to buy large fan & slow it down so it would move air quietly without wind blast. Slowest setting is still too fast. Purchased a fan speed controller in hopes of slowing even more. See photo. Worked perfectly. Plugged fan into this controller. Set both to slowest speed. Fan very quiet yet still moves sufficient amount of air with much less blast.

> 3 dayWhen I went to take apart our 20 year old Lasko fan to clean it I Googled how to disassemble the specific model and unfortunately discovered it had been recalled due to a fire issue. I called Lasko and asked about a replacement, but the recall was so old, they were only able to provide me with the part that attaches to the cord to repair the fan. I am paranoid about fires, so I cut the cord, recycled the bulk of the plastic and tossed the remainder of the motor and started to search for a new fan. I assumed (sigh) that a commercial grade metal fan would be my best option for a replacement as we used our fan for noise elimination more than airflow. Here is the deal on this fan: It is not loud. Compared to a plastic Lasko Wind Machine we purchased a couple months ago, this metal Lasko fan is quiet. It has a weird high pitch whirring noise that my husband says sounds like a small airplane. The difference between the 1-2-3 settings is almost not there. We had a hard time telling when the fan was turned up or down. The wind or air movement is impressive when compared to the Lasko Wind Machine (plastic). Our Aussie loves to lay in front of the fan and she sat in front of the metal Lasko and with her fur blowing around her face. The plastic Lasko, is loud, but it does not move the air nearly as well. This fan is really easy to put together. It snaps in two parts and the controls attach on the side. There is a clamp for the window that we have not used, so I do not know how difficult it is. The fan itself is not heavy, so its easy to move around. Honestly, if you can handle the whir, and dont need the fan for noise reduction, this is the fan for you. If you want a noisy fan that blows air, go with the Lasko Wind Machine (plastic).
