I should have paid more mind to reviewers that mentioned the brightness and coldness of the light put out by this product. Way, way too much for my needs in a patio light. Sent it back.

This is not a rope light, this is a tape light, Flat sided. I was looking to replace my years old rope light that had started being dim and already had all the hooks in place to do so. I went ahead and installed this light using them anyway even though therye a bit big for it. The clips they send with it will entail being mounted with the supplied screws, a much more tideous process. The lights are super bright so I would suggest getting a dimmer to plug them into. Luckily I already had that from my previous ones. Hopefully these will last as long as my old set did, time will tell

I have installed quite a few light strip and went up very smoothly. The only thing I would change is the number of plastic clips that come in the package. To get a tight clean line you need to put a clip about every 8 inches and you only have enough clips for about 25 feet.

So these lights were great but they are really, really bright. I live in a high rise and several people complained about the balcony lights being too bright and honestly they are. Wish they had a dimmer:-(

Great, but maybe too bright (my photos show room lights on and off). This is basically avery white colored led light strip (we ordered the warm color version, but its still plain white in color) but if we were ordering again wed go with something dinner or dim adjustable as they provide the same amount of light as the normal room lights. They are way too bright for ambient movie lighting. We dont hate them, but arent in love, or even a third date, with them yet. The brightness may be perfect for you, but might just be our deal breaker.

I would order more

We bought 13 flat ropes for our plant nursery. We had planned to use spotlights but these work better; no shadows or dead spots. So far they have been everything we hoped for. We used metal electrical staples (for 12-20 cable) to secure them because we figured the sun would destroy the plastic brackets provided. Each kit contains a tube of waterproofing caulk that is used on the end pieces. So far, so good!
