> 24 hourI purchased the plug-in outlet to try out a new (and more affordable) automation system. Ive been a long-time user of Insteon (and X10) devices to control lighting and devices in and around my house, so I have a baseline to compare against. I found this unit very easy to setup on my wireless network and update the firmware using my iPhone and the iOS app. Schedules and activities were equally easy to program and its very responsive to on/off commands from my iOS devices. The ability to schedule an event up to 120 minutes before or after sunrise/sunset is something I cant do now with my Insteon devices. Ive been needing to add more devices to my house, and after trying out this unit, it looks like Ill be transitioning to Leviton. Easy to install/integrate, intuitive to operate, better scheduling flexibility, no hub required and the Leviton plug-in devices are about 20% less than their Insteon counterparts. After my positive experience with the plug-in outlet, I recently replaced an existing manual dimmer switch with the Decora Smart Wi-Fi dimmer switch to control the lights over my fireplace. Installation was easy enough and connecting it to the wifi network was a breeze. Integration with Alexa is impressive and allows me to just tell her Im headed to bed and have the appropriate lights turn off. A great (possibly overlooked) feature in the app is the ability to tell the dimmer what type of bulb(s) it is controlling (incandescent, CFL or LED) providing a more linear relationship between slider position in the app and brightness. Ive also noticed I can dim my LED floods better with this than the previous manual dimmer. The My Leviton app provides better schedule flexibility than the Insteon app as I can command devices to turn on/off not only at sunset/sunrise, but also up to 120 minutes before/after. Plus, I dont need a hub. I was recently on travel and able to quickly and remotely check/control the lights. Ill definitely be replacing more of my switches, dimmer switches and plug-in dimmers with Levitons Smart Decora series.

> 24 hourI was an early adopter of Leviton Decora WiFi switch solution, and its been about four years since I originally installed this product to realize the promise of a smart home. By extension, I think my experience offers a unique, valuable perspective: • While the Gen 1 products had an extremely high failure rate that was very frustrating at times, Leviton has consistently stood by its warranty commitment to replace failed units. • Over the years, Ive noted continued investments to improve product stability, security, and app experience. • I’m really liking the installation / setup improvements that were incorporated in the Gen 2 products, which replace the now discontinued Gen 1 products under warranty repairs. • If lessons were learned and the quality / reliability of the Gen 2 products have similarly improved, this presumes to be a really solid solution. I will update this review as my experience with Gen 2 products unfold. --- Original experience: To realize the promise of a smart home, I invested heavily in Leviton Decora Wi-Fi switches, buying [16] of the regular variety (DW15S-1BZ), [8] of the dimmer variety (DW1KD-1BZ), [4] of three-way switch remotes (DD0SR-DLZ), and some of the plug-in (DW15A-1BW) units between July and December of 2017. To be fair, Ill say that contrary to other reports the Wi-Fi has been very reliable, and switch responsiveness to Wi-Fi commands has always been timely, but like others I had trouble after power outages, a need to reset breakers to restore connectivity, etc. Also, twice I had the system go haywire with lights turning on and off on their own, which was quite scary. I first thought it was hackers, but Leviton assured me it was an issue with their cloud platform - still, very unnerving. The mobile application user interface can be difficult to navigate, but I got used to it and can live with that. The real issue has been the extremely high failure rate - upwards of 50%, maybe 75% of those I purchased have failed since they were installed, even while my house is newer (built 2007) with high quality wiring, required neutral wire, and fairly stable, reliable power. Leviton has thus far honored their warranty, but not always as quickly as Id like, and this is still a hassle. Consider, you have the cost of the device itself and the further time and effort for installation (or electrician cost if youre not installing yourself) which is multiplied by the high failure rate to account for replacements, along with being unable to turn lights on and off during a failure (sometimes even manually) until the unit is replaced. In my calculus, over the life so far those have greatly outweighed any gains from the convenience of the smart features. It may be that engineering has improved on newer models to be reliable, but if not, once these are out of warranty, I couldnt imagine having switch replacements becoming some new lifetime budgetary cost and household repair task. All that to say, in my opinion the concept is great, but execution - tied to the expectation of always being able to reliably turn your lights on and off - needs work.

> 24 hourWorks perfectly. I have converted most of the home we have into a smart home using Leviton Dimmers for the lights and they all work perfectly via their app and Alexa. This plug in version was no exception. Purchased to control a main lamp in my daughters room as she like most kids leaves the room and leave the light on Now turning it off is as simple as asking Alexa - who never complains about doing it! :)

> 24 hourNeeded to control the Christmas Lights that were plugged in at an awkward location. The hardest part was getting to the outlet. Setting up the switch with the MyLeviton app was a piece of cake! Also, since the cord plugs in on the bottom instead of the front it fits nicely behind furniture. Will definitely be getting more.

> 24 hourCompletely dead on arrival. Switch lit up green, but when pressed had zero function. Would not turn on/off plugged in accessory or allow you to press and hold it to initiate pairing mode. I called the manufacturer customer service hoping they would send me a replacement but after verifying it was broken just told me to contact Amazon. Amazon would not replace it even though it was certified renewed and instead gave me a refund. Problem is, all other sellers want 3x the price for it. Id think they should send me a working one, but maybe Im expecting too much.

> 24 hourThis unit is worth the extra money vs the smaller , less expensive unit. The wifi range seems stronger than the other model. I have three of the smaller ones and , 2 of these larger ones. The smaller ones wouldn’t work upstairs in my home. Secondly, the plug placement faces downward making it easier to not interfere with furniture etc.
