I use Lutron Caseta lights everywhere and this outdoor plug integrated seamlessly and has worked flawlessly since.

Lutron makes the most reliable and highest quality devices. Yes this outdoor plug is expensive but it is built to last and will be the last one you ever have to buy. My last smart plug was a cheap alternative and failed after a month in southern heat. The Lutron handles the heat perfectly and is built like a tank

The Lutron Caseta line of smart home products is worth every penny. They use a proprietary communications protocol, but integrate with Alexa and HomeKit with an additonal hub. That said, even if your network goes down, the switches and remotes still work just as you would expect, its just your automations and integrations that will temporarily be unavailable. Its the only brand of smart outlet that Ive never had just spontaneously stop connecting to the network (unless the whole network is down).

Warning: $79 hub required to make this thing work as a smart device. Did NOT say that on the images of the box when I ordered it. The box trumpets how it works with so many smart platforms. What it doesn’t put up front in big letters is that an additional hub is required. That info I found buried down the page in the description of its functions, after I ordered it and received it. Without the hub, it’s just an expensive manual on/off switch. After I receive the hub and get this thing connected, I may up my review stars. Update: ended up returning it for something that did not require an added cost hub.

This fits perfectly into my smart electrical system setup. My home has been completely refitted with Lutron Caseta switches and outlets so as I can control my lighting via WIFI whenever I’m away. I needed this outdoor unit to control the battery charger on my golf cart rather than leaving on 27/7. It’s very well constructed and perfect for outdoor use.

You will not go wrong with Lutron devices. They are used in the offices and hospitals. I replaced some unreliable outdoor wifi switch with these. I have their other devices and they are always online and work. That is the most important thing here. Also, you can pair a Pico switch to these and skip the hub all together to create a 4 way switch in seconds.

Had no problem integrating unit with my Lutron & Alexa system

I am using this remote device to control a hot water circulation pump that is installed in the garage. I have it programmed to run on a daily schedule and 2 Pico on/off switches. Right out of the box it just worked. Now, when one of us wants to shower it no longer is necessary to go out to the garage and manually turn on the pump; the Smart Plug takes care of it. Like all Lutron Caseta products, this just works.
