This is a really great, high-quality product. I’ve had the Caseta system for my indoor lights for a couple of years and have been very happy with it, but always wished that Lutron had a plug that I could use to control my outdoor low-voltage landscape lights. Wish granted! I was a little concerned that the transformer for the lights is about 40 feet away from my Caseta bridge, a little outside the recommended range, but I plugged it in and it connected immediately to my system. You can’t dim the lights with this device as is possible with the other Caseta switches, but it’s not an issue with the landscape lights. Even integrated it into an Alexa routine that turns off all lights at bedtime. Can’t recommend this device highly enough.

Does exactly what I want. Easy to set up and use

In addition to the Lutron WiFi base device, you may need to buy a Lutron Caseta plug-in dimmer to act as a range-extender for your WiFi system. You can set up one (only one!) plug-in dimmer to act as a range-extender so placement is key for reliable coverage. I have all sorts of Lutron Caseta smart switches and they work flawlessly in comparison to other brands...and trust me...I have bought a lot of smart switches from varying different manufacturers. This outdoor remote switch is in a far corner of my backyard and it has never failed to work or lose WiFi connection. And, its rugged. Really better than other products I have used. Though, I still put a weatherized cover over the smart switch but I wouldnt hesitate to install it in the open air with weather/sprinklers in the area. Providing you install it via the recommendations in the instruction manual.

I was using another brand outdoor smart switch, but it had problems dropping connection and it was often sluggish in its response with on/off commands. I have a small (growing) Lutron Caseta setup, so when I saw this I grabbed it even though it was a little more expensive than I wanted. Im glad I did because it works great! It hasnt dropped once and its very responsive.

I am using this remote device to control a hot water circulation pump that is installed in the garage. I have it programmed to run on a daily schedule and 2 Pico on/off switches. Right out of the box it just worked. Now, when one of us wants to shower it no longer is necessary to go out to the garage and manually turn on the pump; the Smart Plug takes care of it. Like all Lutron Caseta products, this just works.

I use this device to control my outdoor landscape lighting. I have a lot of Lutron Caseta in the house and this fit into my smart home system very nicely. It was added quickly to my Lutron app. I use the Lutron app to control all my outdoor lighting on a schedule related to sunrise and sunset. I dont integrate it to Alexa because there is no need to control the lights from the Alexa app, but it would be easy to add just like my other Caseta devices. There are two impressive things about this device. First it is well built and would seem to last a long time in an outdoor environment. Second is the range. It is not a WiFi device, it uses a 900Mhz frequency that has better penetration abilities than a 2.4Ghz signal. At first I thought I would have to install this device on the outside of the house between the outlet and the 12V transformer. But I realized that it would fit INSIDE the door on the transformer (I use a 150W transformer by Volt and it is 100% stainless steel enclosure). This made the installation much simpler and secured the device inside the transformer which you can lock. My Lutron hub is in a closet. There are 4 internal walls, a brick exterior wall and a full stainless enclosure around the switch and it works great. That is about 40 feet between the hub and the switch. I also tried it to an outlet in the backyard, even further from the hub and maybe one more wall and it still worked. Yes this switch is relatively expensive. But all the Lutron Caseta hardware I have bought is top quality. It is reliable, and Im not sending a command through some server halfway around the world to turn my lights on/off. This syncs my landscape lighting with my porch light and garage sconces. They turn on and off at the same time and I didnt need to add another system into my smart house. I removed all my WiFi connected devices out of my house, so I was happy to see Lutron release this. I bought a 2nd unit for the backyard.

Easy installation but on the higher end as far as cost

It has great wireless range from the Lutron Caseta hub. Turned my outdoor Christmas lights on and off every time.
