> 3 dayI bought this to control my pond pump. The smart switch is about 50 away from my access point that hangs in the garage. The switch sits next to other smart devices. My access point is a Luxul enterprise model so I know the signal is strong and my other devices nearby all work without issues. The unit appears to be a very well-built device with a great wet location switch but I can never control it through the app - even though the app tells me that the device is switching on and off. Maybe I have a bad unit : (

04-04-2025I was using another brand outdoor smart switch, but it had problems dropping connection and it was often sluggish in its response with on/off commands. I have a small (growing) Lutron Caseta setup, so when I saw this I grabbed it even though it was a little more expensive than I wanted. Im glad I did because it works great! It hasnt dropped once and its very responsive.

Greater than one weekI had put off installing string lights on my deck hoping that Lutron would add an outdoor switch to the Caseta line. I installed the lights when I heard that their switch was coming soon, but I grew impatient and decided to try a much less expensive Homekit-ready wi-fi switch from another manufacturer. After 4 hours I was unable to get it working (despite meeting and following all recommendations and requirements). Fortunately, the Lutron Smart Plug became available for pre-order, and finally arrived last week. The complete setup, including Homekit and Alexa integration, took a grand total of 5 painless minutes. I cant speak to how installation will go with other hubs and systems, but this product is a no-brainer for existing Caseta users. The setup couldnt have been easier, and the switch has (so far) proved as dependable as the other Caseta products in my home. It is expensive and lacks certain features found in similar devices, but Ill gladly pay more for a fast, stress-free installation, seamless integration with my existing Caseta system, and complete reliability. And the build quality of this plug is extremely robust; it is clearly designed to withstand changing weather conditions with heavy-duty cabling and a solid enclosure.

> 3 dayThis integrates well with Caseta system/hub and had no problem connecting during setup. This is kind of bulky and designed for outside for things like holiday lights. Would be nice to have a less bulky version for inside use though that could handle higher wattages than the dimmer switch.

> 3 dayAfter having returned a couple of less robust outdoor wifi-enabled smart plugs that just didnt work, thought Id give this very pricey option a try. Although its a bit bulky, the unit feels very solid, should indeed survive Ohio winters. But as the product description more or less makes clear, there is no scheduling/ remote function built in to the unit, you must buy the Lutron Caseta Bridge to get that. So I did that, too, bringing the combo price to around $160. Better be built like a tank for that price! The Bridge installation was anything but easy, resulting in the one-star rating there. The Bridge saw my wifi but refused to accept the password to connect, and so could not load the software update that is required for operation. I got online with the Lutron chat rep, who very patiently went through a 45-minute process first to get the Bridge to connect to my network, then to be seen by the Lutron servers. Finally got it up and running after many steps. So five stars for Lutron service, but that kind of odyssey should never have been necessary to get the smart plug to do what it is supposed to do in the first place. Oh, and the schedule programming is a bit wonky - you have to create one entry to turn the device on, then another one with a different name to turn it off. Would never have understood this without the chat reps help. So if you have the patience to endure what could be a prolonged setup process, this is a great unit. If you want ease of operation, maybe youll be luckier than I was; maybe not.

01-04-2025This is an extension cord. Thats all that is in the box. It has no way to connect with your smart phone, as advertised. This is not a smart plug. To make it a smart plug, you will need to purchase an additional component called a Smart Bridge, which is currently an additional $80. This is only mentioned in the fine print of this page. That doubles the cost of your project. This is a scam.

> 3 dayGood product but did not work in my Lutron RA select which I had ASSUMED. Seller was very understanding and allowed me to return the item. Seller was very easy to work with, especially given that the error was a result of an assumption I made.

> 3 dayI own six of these outdoor plugs for lights, water fountains and two indoor alarms. They are rock solid like all Caseta devices. Apple HomeKit never fails. Easy scheduling within the app or Apple HomeKit. I wish they would make an indoor outlet rated at 1800W.
