> 24 hourThis is a good magnifying glass for the price. But there is no way it is close to 30x. I bought it for a project that my 10x was not strong enough for. I can’t tell the difference between the two, so this can’t be more than 10x. I also find it interesting that the box it came in and the literature in the box don’t mention anywhere what the magnification is!!

> 24 hourI like the bright light. Im looking at coins. Most times I have to keep moving either the coin or magnifier more than I thought I would. I just believe I should have gone with my 1st choice and gotten the stand alone. I would be able to use both hands. However, its fantastic for other things.

> 24 hourThere is a circle of LEDs (12) that a few said focused the light into a ring pattern leaving the center relatively bare. I disagree with that! It is one of the first things I checked and I found the light pattern to be an even spread. Also. I found the brightness to be just right but not so bright that it causes glare. I cannot recommend this magnifier for reading, per se, if that is what you are needing. The field is too narrow for reading (although I suppose you could) but is perfect for very fine print or fine detail. I always have a magnifier within arms reach for that purpose. I got exactly what I wanted and Im pleased with it. There might be a better one out there even for the money but frankly I got tired of looking. Yes, I checked all of my local brick and mortar stores too. It looks and feels to be solidly constructed albeit a little heavy and bulky. (Which is my only complaint)

> 24 hourI needed a new Magnify glass because, well, mine is probably 10 years old and I figured that I would give this one a shot. I use it only for reading that very small print; Im not a jeweler of a coin enthusiast. I am happy to report that I am very pleased with this product. The viewing glass is large, and the light is bright. It requires 2 AA batteries, which are not included. I find it to be a little heavy on the hand; but it is probably something that takes getting used to. After trying a few others from WalMart which were double the price (and I returned), I am glad to say that Im very happy, and highly recommend!!

> 24 hourI bought this for my husband who has significant reading problems. He is an avid reader and I dearly hope that this magnifying glass will help. I found it be easy to hold. It certainly did magnify print for me. I made an error in thinking that this did not need batteries. It does and it will have these batteries soon. Once the batteries are bought and inserted, I can speak to the 4 star ratings. It can be used without the batteries, but you wont get the lights. Update: When I tried to insert the batteries, the entire piece slid off. I noticed that one coil was as it should be while the other coil was bent. I left it without the batteries inserted for the present.
