I love this magnifying glass! It magnifies very well, and the light is an extra bonus. I bought a second one to have in a different location around the house. Much better quality for the price than other magnifying glasses I have bought.

I bought this product to use on extremely fine print. I have reading glasses and they are good for most print but really fine or small print I need extra help with. The batteries for this product are a common type(AA) and I liked that. Ive tried it out and it seems to work well. The only thing I didnt like was that the lights will glare on the page or product that you are looking at. You can hold the magnifying glass at a slight angle to get rid of the glare. Overall, I like this product and Im glad I bought it.

I gave them to a 96 year old who lost his regular one. He loved the light in this one.

I got this to read fine print, which I don’t see as well as I once did. Overall, a decent magnifier that’s up to this task. Pros • Clear image • Uniform image quality across most of the field of view Cons • A bit on the heavy side, but that’s what obtains with a glass lens • Battery cover can be a bit difficult to open • The light could be a bit brighter—but this isn’t a serious shortcoming • Magnification is much closer to 3× than to the stated 30× I have difficulty believing that the 30× magnification is a mistake rather than intentionally misleading advertising. For several reasons, it’s simply impossible to have a true 30× magnifier with an 80 mm lens. A rigorous determination of the actual magnification isn’t difficult, but a very simple test suffices to show that this magnifier isn’t anywhere close to 30×: if 12 point type were viewed with a true 30× magnifier, it would appear to be 5″ high, which clearly isn’t the case here. And frankly, who would want it to be? For most people for most of the uses mentioned here, there is little use for more than 3–4× magnification. Higher-powered magnifiers—usually called loupes—have their uses, but the greater magnification comes at a cost. As magnification increases, the field of view and working distance decrease. And the depth of field decreases, making it imperative to keep the distance very constant. And a good loupe is considerably more expensive. If you want to examine gems or the stylus on a phono cartridge (assuming you’ve even heard of the latter), this isn’t the right tool. But for us older folks who insist on reading the fine print, this magnifier works just fine—and I would recommend it.

Finding a distortion at the very center of the glass. Creates an issue with tiny detail.

There is a circle of LEDs (12) that a few said focused the light into a ring pattern leaving the center relatively bare. I disagree with that! It is one of the first things I checked and I found the light pattern to be an even spread. Also. I found the brightness to be just right but not so bright that it causes glare. I cannot recommend this magnifier for reading, per se, if that is what you are needing. The field is too narrow for reading (although I suppose you could) but is perfect for very fine print or fine detail. I always have a magnifier within arms reach for that purpose. I got exactly what I wanted and Im pleased with it. There might be a better one out there even for the money but frankly I got tired of looking. Yes, I checked all of my local brick and mortar stores too. It looks and feels to be solidly constructed albeit a little heavy and bulky. (Which is my only complaint)
