> 3 dayThis is perfect if you don’t want to get out the heavy vacuum. Battery last much longer than the older, white Mikita.

> 3 dayFirst off, you should NOT buy this vacuum if: You don’t own any other Makita power tools. You expect this to be your main vacuum. You need this to clean thick carpet. Also I HIGHLY recommend getting the “199553-5 Cyclonic Vacuum Attachment” with it, so much so that IMO it should come with it and be part of the kit. I paid ~$120 (on sale) for the quick charger, 2 AH battery, and vacuum and at most would pay $150 for that kit. At ~$120, I do think it’s a great deal as the battery and quick charger alone are easily worth ~$90, so getting the vacuum for ~$30 is great. However, this is also why I say you need to have other Makita power tools, because if you have no use for the charger or battery outside of this vacuum it’s a terrible deal. I use this vacuum to clean my car and garage, and for these tasks it’s fantastic. It’s super light and with the added filter is the perfect length for me to clean the floor (I’m 6’3”) and I use it all the time to clean up random stuff like metal chippings from drilling to dirt tracked in from outside. It can clean short carpet (stuff like entry mats) very well. However, it does not clean thick carpet well as the suction isn’t super strong (at least compared to my Shark vacuum). As I mentioned earlier, I think you essentially HAVE to buy the extra filter as it allows you to use the vacuum without needing to change the main filter and it also seems to improve the suction of the vacuum as well. The added filter essentially acts as the “bag” of the vacuum and makes it much easier to dump out the collected dirt and “protects” the main filter significantly. So much so that I still haven’t had to replace it despite using it frequently and owning it for almost a year. Again I do NOT suggest this as your main/only vacuum as it’s just not up to that task, but as a second/portable vacuum this is a GREAT vacuum.

Greater than one weekFor me, this is an outstanding helpful tool that I am thankful for every day! I have wood floors in my house. I have pets. I have two dyson vacuums which I love. But this makes me dance a jig for a few reasons...its cordless, its lightweight, its small, and it is simple. So, we keep this in the laundry room which is next to the kitchen. We also have a battery charger there, and a battery operated Makita blower. I use this little vacuum to clean up dog hair and cat litter and pieces of grass and debris we bring in from our shoes or dog paws. The canister doesnt hold a lot, but for me it is perfect! I dump it into a trash I have in the backyard, and at the same time, I use the Makita blower to blow off the fabric filter because I cant shake the fur/dust off of it. The little fabric filters are easy to accidently throw in the trash while emptying the canister, so be careful. The little filters are well made out of a felt type material...they have a strong stitching and I cant imagine needing to change it very often if you blow it off to clean it. My system may not work for everyone. I can honestly say if I didnt have the little Makita blower right next to it, I wouldnt love this vacuum as much because the filter would have to be changed so often. This machine is not meant to be strong carpet cleaner. Im unsure why they invented it at all....but I love it for my wood floors because I love clean floors and this helps me EASILY keep them vacuumed.

> 3 dayI like the vacuum, it works well. They really should remove the momentary switch and install a push-on push-off switch.

> 3 dayBought this for quick pick-ups in the laundry room where the cats litter box is kept. So good, I use it for quick pick-ups around the whole house. I use Milwaukee batteries and bought an 18 volt Milwaukee to Makita battery adapter on Amazon for $12. Works great!

14-04-2025good vacuum suction, not amazing, but more than capable for loose messes on hard flat surfaces, or cleaning up the edges of rooms

> 3 dayWorks for our needs on hardwood floors. Suction could be better. Easy to use. You have to press and hold the button while vacuuming which is a bit annoying. Wish there was a button to keep it on so we dont have to keep holding it.

> 3 dayBought for an extended rv road trip and did not disappoint. Cleaned everything we pointed it at, and is able to get at all the small nooks and crannies in an rv. I have also used it on my stairs with similar results. Light and easy to use. The container fills up fast and requires getting your hands a little dirty to clear debris off the filter, especially pet hair. No complaints and no regrets with this purchase.
