I never imagined I would write a glowing review for a vacuum... but I really love this vacuum! It makes vacuuming fun (sort of ;-) ). I bought this to replace a very old upright and thought it would be a difficult transition to canister, but it wasnt at all. This Miel is small, but mighty! Its light weight enough to be able to carry downstairs without much trouble. The adjustable height of the handle is great and its pretty easy to maneuver and clean under furniture without too much effort. The two floor attachments are great to switch between wood and other surfaces. Only two issues... minor challenge in remembering what the weird symbols mean to adjust the suction. And agree with all the other reviews about the short cord! In a larger space, I need to use multiple outlets to clean the whole room. Overall highly recommend!

I have always had dogs and cats. And with them comes a lot of hair, bits of cat little and pet food crumbs. This is usually what I am vacuuming up on a regular basis. I was actually quite disappointed with this vacuum cleaner, especially since its a Miele. The suction is incredible, so much so that it pulls my thin carpets off the floor, even though furniture is on top of parts of the carpet. I have a full size (8x10) washable rug in the living room and this vacuum, even on the lowest setting, refuses to pick anything up from it. It is great for vacuuming up pet hair, leaves, general dirt. However it does not pick up bits of cat litter or small pieces of pet food, rather is just pushes it around. It almost looks like I have not vacuumed when I just had. On the plus side, the vacuum is far better made than any of the others I have owned, moves easily, is compact and is able to be easily tucked away. But the cord is quite short. Im always searching for an ideal vacuum cleaner but it doesnt appear that one exists.

We received this vacuum cleaner last week, and have only used it a few times, but so far we are very pleased. We live in an apartment We need a vac which is light, easy to maneuver, with good but controllable suction. This Miele product fills all three requirements. It is easy to move around, and has little problem transitioning from bare floor to carpet (or visa versa). The force of the suction can be controlled by a bypass valve on the wand which varies suction from hard (valve closed) to moderate (valve full open). This is important to us, because some of our carpets are rather delicate orientals. Two things very specific to this model (C1 Turbo). We chose it because it includes the Turbo head. This head was recommended by several reviews of the Miele canister vacs, and would have cost an additional $100 (!) if we had bought a model which did not include it. Our experience with it so far is positive. If you have rugs as well as bare floor to clean, I strongly suggest looking at this model. Second, several reviewers commented on the short power cord - 20 feet. Well, Miele is a German firm, and most Germans live in apartments or small houses. In our American apartment, a 20 foot cord is plenty. In a house with large rooms, you might need to dedicate an extension cord to your Miele. I guess I should mention one negative. At least one reviewer complained that the vac tends to tip over. Yes; it sits on three wheels, with the hose over the single front wheel. Pulling the vac from the side can pull the unit onto the lower rim of the side. I think this is something that will be easy to control. You mileage may vary.

This thing is very nice. But for the price, I expect more. I used this for a small residential cleaning business I run, so Ive put it through its paces for sure. I understand its not truly meant for that purpose, with certain design decisions making that quite obvious, but I had several people recommend Miele to me--thought Id try the company out with one of their lower-mid-range entries (didnt want to dive head first into a full grand for one quite yet, you understand) and see if it was going to knock my socks off. Overall, I am underwhelmed. Its like buying designer. Its well made, its durable, people like how it looks and feels, and the experience of using it is what Id describe as higher-end, but the functionality could be improved. Ill start with the positives, because there are actually more positives than negatives. Like I stated in the title, get this if you want a vacuum that will last you. Something that looks nice in your house, that gets the job done without much stress, etc. 1. The thing is quality for sure. I legitimately dont care about where a product is built at all, as long as its quality. Europe, China, Mexico, USA--I just dont. What I care about is that its built well, and runs well. Ive used it on over 100 residential properties (many of which large ones) with no sweat. In some cases, I abused this vacuum. Zero issues with it running, breaking, failing, or even seemingly to come remotely close. And given how sturdy it still feels and sounds, I bet it could last another 10 years even in my hands. 2. The retractable cord feature is amazing, and I dont know how Ive lived without it. On the other hand, my biggest concern with the vacuum overall is how long this retracting feature will last before it breaks and either trashes the vacuum, or causes me to have to order parts to repair it. Hasnt hiccupped once yet, though, and Ive been very tough on it. I will say, I wish the cord was about 6 foot longer--in operation, it just feels slightly too short every time I use it. 3. This is a strange one... but it looks really nice. Ive had clients ask me about it. It exudes this is a really nice vacuum energy, and I actually think that has helped my business in minor ways. Lol. That alone COULD justify the cost, considering my clientele, but not entirely. Im focused on a few other factors, which is why it gets some hard negative marks. 4. The sound gets high praise from me. When Im in a clients house with them present, it doesnt feel like Im disturbing them to any significant degree. From a business standpount, who truly cares, as they paid for service and know that vacuums are loud and will be involved in the process--but again, it contributes to the experience, which through a trickle effect, contributes to my pocket. That said, its still a vacuum. 5. I like the power dial. Half the settings I dont use, but I do like it. 6. For how low-power the motor is overall, it produces some good results. Not astounding, but solid overall. I dont frequently have to go over anything a second time, which allows me to spend less time on the job and produce a better outcome. Not saying there arent cases where Im like how did that not picked up? but those cases are fewer and further between. Some notes on that in one of my major negatives, because this positive only applies to MOST of the attachments--theres one glaring exception. 7. Most of the attachments are well-made and do their job. From my experience with vacuums, its not hard to get right most of the time, but I give it props. I do however have two MASSIVE problems with them, one of which is more of a problem with the vacuum itself, and thats where Ill start... (Here are my gripes. There are two big ones) 1. There was not much effort in providing an attachment attachment system onto the vacuum. Its not great. It exists, at best. Its inconvenient and inefficient at worst. It proves space for 4/6 of the attachments while in operation (three of which are attached to the vacuum, and one on the wand, so 5/6 if youre using the extension, which I defintely dont need all the time), and I cannot begin to express how annoying that is for me. Theres just always an extra attachment that is loose. The three that do stick onto the vacuum are incoveniently located right at the base of the hose. And if Im not using the rotating brush head or extension, they have nowhere to live. I either have to caddy them around, or leave it somewhere. This is overall my biggest gripe with the vacuum. Now, do most vacuums even feature a place to put them? Not too many--but for what the vacuum prices at, it absolutely should have a spot for every single attachment WHILE ROLLING AROUND, in operation. Its actually the biggest reason I ended up buying a different one after putting this one through a run of about 4-5ish months. Theres a secondary reason, though. 2. The turbo heads size is ALMOST unacceptably small. It frequently ejects even small debris. It should not do this. If it were dog food, or otherwise, Id understand. No. This will not only spit out debris the size of broken mechanical pencil lead, it will fling it with great velocity across the room. Small, tiny pieces of leaves. Tiny fly corpses. Im serious. And yes, this is with the brush head cleaned of hair and other debris. Either the vacuum doesnt have enough suction to pull these things in before they hit the spinning brush and get rail-gunned across the house, or the opening for debris in front of the brush is too small. I dont know. And frankly, I dont really care. These are things households run into frequently, and should be considered in the design. Some other minor negatives and implementation ideas--things I wouldnt drop the rating for, but that Ill include; 1. Bags are expensive, but I knew that through my research. Still. Theyre vacuum bags. Small ones at that. The bags are nice, but theres no reason for them to be as nice when theyre disposable. Not to mention, the air filters dont justify the cost either for what they actually are. Reloading them is an absolute breeze though, Ill give them that. 2. I have a love-hate relationship with the angled handle where the attachments clip on. I like it 75% of the time when in casual operation, rolling it back and forth across the floor. But its a pain in the ass when Im working around obstacles. I wish it could either straighten out or be removed while retaining the ability to actually use the attachments. 3. It looks like it should have the ability to be a backpack vacuum. I knew it wasnt when going into the purchase, but I think that would really be an excellent addition as an attachment to the rolling side. Ive genuinely thought about trying to lut an sttachment like that together. I dont recall if their higher end options feature this, but if they dont, its a missed opportunity. All in all, I would have really liked to give this vacuum a higher score. I still like the vacuum, and I use it in my own house, and Ill be glad to have it as a backup for my business, as its something I might use on really large households when I have others helping me. But in my day-to-day, it had to take a permanent side-line, and anything that gets that treatment from me cant get more than a 3 star. I have a Ridgid shop-vac that handles attachments better, has more power, has lasted years and years, and was legitimately like a fourth (maybe a fifth) the price. Would I use it in the same situations? No, but what the Miele gives me for spending that much more on it just ISNT enough. And for me, that just caused it to fall below my expectations. Thanks for reading. -a dedicated vacuum user.

After doing months of research on vacuums, I decided to get this Miele. Best decision Ive made. Dont waste your money on Sharks or Dysons. They arent made well, and wont last. This vacuum is made very well, and its a recommended buy by almost every vacuum repair shop in my town. Its low maintenance and easy to fix if you ever did need to, which usually on Miele you dont.

More powerful suction and lighter than our previous Miele classic. Glad that we made the upgrade.

Purchased because of Miele reputation and Id just installed expensive carpet. Carpet company said my Dyson would be too rough on the carpet. This is just my impression, someone else may feel different. It felt flimsy and it was much louder than Id anticipated. Learned later it didnt have the sound insulation. This machine has a LOT of suction. Seemed like the turbo brush was too rough on the carpet. Lowered the suction, still thought so. Bottom line it didnt seems to be harming the carpet. The bottom of the turbo brush is very smooth and no hard edges. I just expected more of a luxury feel...and this machine didnt have that. Although, it could suck the paint off a wall.

As all my floors are wooden/tile and a few area rugs I chose a canister over my old shark. I liked that my old shark had a dust cloth attachment with the hard floor attachment but could not find a good vacuum with that. That being said I was getting discouraged with the bagless vacs due to their ability to scatter dust when emptying, and their inability to carry parts beyond 3 years. My last cleaner prior to the 6 year old Shark was a Kirby, and while it was a pain to do hardwood floors, it was simple easy to get fixed (only 3 times due to human error) and it lasted 23 years. I wanted a vacuum that will, hopefully from the reviews, last longer than 6 years and that can get fixed by local vacuum store. I have used this 3 times and so far it works great, on board attachments make getting the mouldings and windowsills dusted quickly; it fits ALL the way under my sofa and the prior one did not. The biggest downfall is the cord is way to short and I must maneuver its locating to do my entire kitchen, living room, dining room, hallways, etc and we have an open floor plan. It is light, easy to store. The rug attachment with the beater brush is fair, however I have to put the suction level on quite low or the beater bar stops moving due to too much suction. Hopefully in [6] months I will let you know if there is less dust in my home and the cleaner stays in excellent working condition
