I have owned 3 Miele vacuums. One I had for 12 years and passed down to a friend ( It was still in working order) when I upgraded to the next model. We have another home and now need another vacuum. I Love that they are not heavy and the canister follows easily and pivots effortlessly. If you havent tried a canister vac , you should. It is about 20 lbs so no problem to carry up the staircase. The on/off controls are on the body which makes the handle lighter. Miele is top of the line quality and this is the least expensive model. It works very well for me! The prices go up to 1200.00 so its up to you what you spend but this little workhorse can handle a lot. For @ 400.00 I got a package that included the vacuum and on board furniture and crevice tools hidden in the body. A parquet floor wide head and a smaller wood floor or area rug head. Bonus* they sent over 15 extra vacuum bags and a HEPA filter! The vacuum was protected with the bags so there was no packaging waste. I love that it matches my new kitchen colors!

First off, Im a tough reviewer. In general, I dont believe in 5 star reviews unless the product is really excellent at its function or an incredible value. If the product does what it says and costs a normal amount of money, thats a 4 star review in my book. Background: I live in a 2 bedroom apartment, which is 50% hardwood, 25% tile and 25% medium pile carpet. I also have area carpets in the living spaces that are medium-low pile. I dont have any pets, but my fiancee has long hair. I am getting a cat soon - I will update this review when I have tried out the vacuum on cat hair. EDIT: Ive had the cat for 2 months now. Vacuum picks up cat hair on my couch and carpet pretty well. I dont have to re-vacuum any areas as far as I can tell. When doing furniture, I have to clean the attachments fairly often, but thats to be expected. No change to this review. Functions: Hardwood - Fantastic This thing has great suction. It cleans super easily and the parquet floorhead is effective. Carpet - Good The Turboteq carpet brush head cleans the carpets pretty well. There are multiple suction settings and the device recommends a lower suction setting for carpets. I have found I get better results going slower on a lower suction mode than turning up the suction. The suction is very powerful - it will pull up on area rugs. You have to maintain an acute angle with the handle and push forward and slightly down to move the brush head over carpet. Even then it takes a little bit of force. Moving it backwards doesnt work nearly as well. In heavily soiled areas, you may need multiple passes - the runner carpet in the hallway needed 2 or 3 passes. Furniture - The attachments for furniture and upholstery work pretty well. Depending on your furniture you may have to turn the suction down past the furniture setting to the curtain setting. I have not tried to clean my curtains with this vacuum. Usability - Pretty good The main issues with usability are simply with canister vacuums. You have to move the canister, clean that area, and then move the canister again. If youre using the floorheads at specific angles or direction, you may have to set up the canister so the hose is pointing in a useful direction because the hose is a little too short. It is surprising how often you need to consider how to optimize the orientation. The floor and brush heads have lots of rotation but it does not mitigate this problem much. The cord is very long so you can generally always maneuver the vac where you need it to be, but the hose could probably be longer. I will probably be checking in a few months for a longer compatible hose if this continues to annoy me. There are other small usability issues that I would say could be engineered away. The carpet brush head has two notches across it so you can cut hair off. However, over the middle of the brush head, there is a section that the notches are inaccessible because of the brush head bristles. Both notches are inaccessible in the same area from the bristles. It would have been easy to modify the bristle pattern so over the entirety of the brushhead there was at least one notch that work. However, I will say that the notch does work very well when you can use it. The holder for the attachments is also in a slightly inconvenient location as it slightly messes with the tubes. Otherwise the usability is great. Everything assembles easily and its easy to change the bags. Its small and easy to store Quality - Great I havent had this vacuum long, but Im a mechanical engineer who has designed consumer products. I can tell this uses quality materials. The brush head has plastic moving parts, but when inspecting them while cutting hair out, I can tell it is a glass-impregnated plastic for wear resistance. I was able to cut hairs away from it with a normal pocket knife (not a razor blade/hobby knife) without scratching it. I was being careful, but a cheap ABS part would have been scratched up easily. I am impressed by this products engineering and quality. Overall - 4 stars I have written mostly positive things, and the negative things are minor. However, I am only giving this 4 stars, because this aint cheap. $400 is a lot of money for a vacuum, and while it does the job, it doesnt perform its functions unbelievably well. However, it definitely seems built to last. If it is truly as durable as it should be for this price, maybe it is deserving of 5 stars. But if Im paying $400 for an appliance, I dont want slight usability issues or need to make multiple passes on carpet. However, Im not unhappy with my purchase at all. I recommend this for apartment dwellers who are willing to spend a little more time cleaning with a canister vac to get good cleaning results.

I wanted a Miele for so long and kept putting off buying one. After my old Mighty Mite died I decided to just go for it and bought this one. I have never loved a vacuum before, but I love this one. Its really lightweight and easy to carry around- its easy to change the attachments without having to bend over and I love that it has a retractable cord. My house is mostly hardwood with some low pile area rugs and it does a great job on both surfaces.

Our old canister vacuum bit the dust. I researched for the best replacement and decided to buy the Miele Classic C1 Turbo canister vacuum. It weighed about half of what our old vacuum did. It tracks well. When you pull on it, it follows right behind you. I cant say that about our old one. The suction is super. We have hardwood floors throughout of home. The vacuum picks up cat hair and dust like it was nothing. I have carried it up the steps to our second floor and it was easy. The attachments are easy to connect and disconnect. This is one impressive vacuum.

I have a cleaning business and I tried many different vacuum cleaners. Miele never let me down.I’m a domestic organizer by profession and I decided to invest in a quality vacuum for my business. I researched a lot and never paid so much for a vacuum, but I would say it’s totally worth it! Not only will it save time with my work, but I recently moved to a very old house with carpets and I have a 1 year old so vacuuming the floor is extremely necessary. But most vacuum cleaners are heavy and difficult to handle but this little bug made my life a lot easier, this vacuum is so powerful that it lifts everything, whether it’s on the wooden floor or carpet! The floor accessory works for both floors, but I would recommend the air-actuated brush for any carpet and the swivel floor tool for hard floor. The rotating brush moves around things very easily. Incredible power. So light and easy to use. Silent whisper. It stores very well with ways to lock the wand in an upright position. It cleans amazing. I love all the attachments on board. If I could change something, I would make the electric cable longer. To answer the question you are asking yourself, YES! Definitely worth the money.

This was a gift for a 95-year-old homemaker who prides herself on still doing her own housecleaning, and she loves it! A previous vacuum was too much for her to wrestle with, but she reports that the Miele Classic C1 Turbo Team Canister Vacuum Cleaner is easy for her to manage. She has both some wall-to-wall carpet and some runners, and she says the suction adjustment dial works perfectly for her to clean both without the runners being sucked right off the floor. She was also amazed to discover that with the swivel head, she can run the extension tube and swivel head all the way under a full queen size bed. Her children would rather their 95-year-old mother had someone to come in and clean the house for her, but this has turned out to be an excellent next-best choice.

We received this vacuum cleaner last week, and have only used it a few times, but so far we are very pleased. We live in an apartment We need a vac which is light, easy to maneuver, with good but controllable suction. This Miele product fills all three requirements. It is easy to move around, and has little problem transitioning from bare floor to carpet (or visa versa). The force of the suction can be controlled by a bypass valve on the wand which varies suction from hard (valve closed) to moderate (valve full open). This is important to us, because some of our carpets are rather delicate orientals. Two things very specific to this model (C1 Turbo). We chose it because it includes the Turbo head. This head was recommended by several reviews of the Miele canister vacs, and would have cost an additional $100 (!) if we had bought a model which did not include it. Our experience with it so far is positive. If you have rugs as well as bare floor to clean, I strongly suggest looking at this model. Second, several reviewers commented on the short power cord - 20 feet. Well, Miele is a German firm, and most Germans live in apartments or small houses. In our American apartment, a 20 foot cord is plenty. In a house with large rooms, you might need to dedicate an extension cord to your Miele. I guess I should mention one negative. At least one reviewer complained that the vac tends to tip over. Yes; it sits on three wheels, with the hose over the single front wheel. Pulling the vac from the side can pull the unit onto the lower rim of the side. I think this is something that will be easy to control. You mileage may vary.

We have been wanting to invest in a good vacuum, and it was finally time for us. We looked at so many reviews of vacuums! Reddit was the most helpful with a thread from a lifelong vacuum repair and sales guy. His two cents was that a bag vacuum will always outperform and outlast a canister vacuum. We had gone through a Hoover, Shark, a cordless Dyson and the Dyson made for animals (we have two dogs)...cant believe how much money weve spent on Dyson - absolute garbage, basically disposable. This Miele is instantly and obviously SO MUCH BETTER. The suction is amazing; we were thinking about purchasing the much more expensive dog and cat version of the Miele, but I honestly think this model is perfect. Our house is pretty small and mostly hardwood - if you have lots of carpet and animals you might be better off with the more expensive model. We did make sure to get the model made in Germany, not in China. The materials, parts, and construction are clearly higher quality than what weve been using. Weve only had it a few weeks, so time will tell, but I presume this will be the last vacuum we buy for a decade or two, and that is how I love my appliances! I highly recommend this vacuum and the distributor/company selling through Amazon was excellent.
