Morakniv Garberg Full Tang Fixed Blade Knife with Carbon Steel Blade

Rigger
> 3 dayScabbard functional, but could be improved, quieter retention, built in fire starting rod, and more exposed grip. Great knife, well made full tang, but grip could be more rubberized for use in wet environments.

> 3 dayAwesome knife for slicing dicing diving or just surviving. Great blade, very light, and the plastic sheath keeps it nearly bone dry in snow or rain The grip is fantastic as well and can probably be held very safely even by someone with weak grip strength. It arrives VERY sharp so be careful. Overall, this is a vital piece of any survivalist or camper’s gear stow.

> 3 dayI’ve wanted this knife since it came out finally got it originally got it for my bug out bag. Fell in love as soon as I opened it. Loved it so much had to get another one for my big out bag and one for regular bushcraft and backpack use ignore bad reviews especially the one about the handle. I do like micarta handle scales but overtime they separate and when wet they stay wet big no no for carbon Steel also heard a complaint about the sheath. Sheath is poly or plastic very good for carbon steel there is a leather sheath option but if you know knifes and know steal. You can’t really store a knife in a leather sheath it will rust and can potentiometer hold moisture in damp environments. All around this knife is great for the price and quality can’t find a multipurpose knife that can beat it like it better than my gerber strong arm like it better than my essee 5 like it better than my Ontario rd6! Huge supporter of mora for the quality I’ve seen benchmade knifes 5 times the price with worse quality. BUY THIS KNIFE

Greater than one weekI started bushcraft as most did with a morakniv companion (still highly recommend those for that price range and budget) and I fell in LOVE with morakniv. I wanted to try this one out as Ive heard this is one of the best knives you can put in your hands and I believe it. Balance is perfect, size is everything I could need (batoning isnt an issue cause anything over the 4 odd inches wide is axe worthy for me), and the construction are perfect. In terms of quality and feel it puts some of my past knives to shame.

> 3 dayThe Mora Garberg Carbon is as solid as they come. So I have had a lot of opportunities to field test this knife. I will say that if you’re looking for a solid Bushcraft knife that won’t break the bank, then look no further. The knife has a solid Scandi grind, comes out of the box sharp, a perfect 90 degree spine, and given that it’s carbon steel, it work extremely well with a ferro rod, and flint. I have used the spine to process fat wood and other materials in the field for fire starting numerous times. The blade holds its edge very well. This knife at $60-$80 is the perfect woods man knife. You certainly can by other high end knives (which I also own), but quite honestly this knife performs every bit as well as they do in the field. If you’re a tactical guy this knife can be used for most purposes in that facet as well. Also, if that is your realm (tacticool that is), look on E-Bay. There are better sheath options there for this knife. All in all, if you’re someone looking for a solid outdoor work knife that won’t break the bank, then get this. Just make sure it the carbon, not the stainless if you’re looking to use it for bushcraft.

Greater than one weekI bought this knife for a BWCA trip. The belt loop on the sheath broke through the rivets on the 2nd day making it impossible to carry the knife on my belt. I was lucky not to loose the whole package. The knife itself is great and worked well when I was able to carry it, but I resorted to my Leatherman for most of the trip since I had it on me.

> 3 dayI’m a big fan of the Morakniv Garberg one of the few non American made knives I buy. Not expensive great blade goes along time without having to be sharpened and with a little care it will never rust. A very subdued survival or camp knife to carry that will get all tasks done efficiently. Full tang carbon steel that batons wood easily and not heavy to carry on your belt.

> 3 dayRead all the one star reviews and all of them had to do with sharpening issues! Maybe the QC department needs to be relooked at Morakniv, but my knife was sharp as hell out of the box and withstood a day out in a bushcraft setting well! The full tang makes for a sturdy platform to pound through limbs up to four inches in diameter at a perpendicular. (I pulled the knife out and cut through from both sides.) Works if you dont have a saw. Blade sharpness wasnt phased. Cut stakes, toggles, and widdled the rest of the day and used it as a steak knife later for dinner. I opted for the leather sheath for nostalgic reasons, but am considering buying the poly sheath as well. Im sure the knife will far outlast the rawhide. I would have sent it back immediately had the blade arrived dull. Kind of stupid review to complain about a possible bad batch in the manufacturing line. Morakniv is a very reputable company. As I said, maybe they need to relook the QC department - post production! Im very content with the quality of this knife!
