> 3 dayWhat can I say? I like Moras... The Kansbol (center) is an excellent tool. If you want a cutter, this is it. With the two different grinds on the blade, this thins out at the end and is hair popping sharp. Im not sure I would baton with this (unlike with the Mora Robust) due to the thin end of the blade, but it makes up for it in detail work/cut-ability. Ive had and used Moras for years and as yet, have not had one fail at any task despite not having a full tang. These are excellent, affordable knives and in my experience, up to any task you put before it.

Greater than one weekMoras are a great choice for a survival/camping knife on a budget in general. The orange Kansbol has now become my new go-to for carrying in the woods, beating out some of my favorite knives like the Esse 3 and the good old wood-handled Buck 119. These knives may be superior in design, materials and aesthetics, but the Kansbol is strong, low maintenance, utilitarian, no frills and economical. The blade came out of the box beautifully sharp, so sharp I could shave hairs off my arm with it like it was a razor. The rubberized handle is thick, has good grip and feels like it will stick in your hand under pressure. I like that it is stainless steel and won’t rust, but we’ll see how it keeps its edge. I have yet to use it enough to the point where it’s dull, but it shaved all the bark off a small tree and made tinder with no signs of damage. The rubber handle and stainless steel also makes me feel this would be a great knife if you we out at sea or rafting. A few design quirks are what really make the knife special for me. The first is that it has a sharp, 90 degree angle that is perfect for striking on a ferro rod to start a fire. Second, I like that the blade is thick at the spine but tapers to a thinner blade at the end to allow for fine cuts. Finally, my personal preference is for the orange color which would be easy to see in the environment of my area, but not visible some animals, like deer, which I have heard do not see red or orange. The orange is a subtle tone, however, not fluorescent, so it could get lost in autumn leaves. Now, maybe you want to get the Terävä Jääkäripuukko, which is only slightly more expensive, but I prefer this design over all. It would be even more impressive if the Kansbol was full tang, it is partial tang. It also may be a stronger blade if it was carbon steel. For my purposes however, not intending to baton with this knife or anything, this is a better tool for light duty work. On a long week in the woods, I would bring the Kansbol and a bigger, heavier chopper like the Becker BK9 or the Esse Junglas as a companion. Overall, very happy with all qualities found in this one knife.

> 3 dayFantastic product. I got this as a replacement for my Benchmade foldable knife as it was recently stolen. I needed a rugged replacement that would be an all around product. I attached it to my daypack as the straps and sleeve that came with it neatly fit on my backpack strap.

> 3 dayThis is well designed and thought out. The blade/steel quality is very good. Its sharp and super easy to tune up/sharpen. The handle feels solid with a grippy (friction pattern grip) and its easy to use for most cutting tasks. The sheath holds the knife snug and securely in place and its easy to remove quickly. The ferro rod lives in a solid snug sheath that is removable from the knife sheath and holds it in place solidly. It is a good size, is easy to get a stable firm grip on the handle and it is easy to get a good effective strike. The ferro rod sheath also has a diamond media sharpening strip attached to its outside edge for blade tuning. I really appreciate that they made the sheath design modular meaning that the ferro rod sheath can be easily removed for any blade sharpening/tuning and the belt loop can also be removed which is great since the knife sheath fits perfectly in a molle loop and since the sheath is made of plastic I can also add a strip of velcro to attach to a molle backpack or vest. This knife is a great value for the quality, good design and what is offered in this kit.

> 3 dayGreat knife! I have several different Mora knives of varying sizes and builds. This one rivals the heavy duty version of the Companion for heft and use. The 90° spine is a plus, as is the small ferro rod included. Theres also a diamond sharpening strip, but Ill never use that except for chipped edge repair as its way too coarse to maintain the fine edge this comes with. Ill stick with whetstones and stropping, thanks. Seems like a gimmick rather than practical. The dual grind is interesting and functional for finer work near the tip. While I prefer carbon steel for bushcraft, this one has the stainless blade. Its JUST a hair thinner than I like for serious crafting like batonning, but is still robust enough for that - could be just a little thicker, especially when using the more brittle stainless. This ones going in my hiking pack.

> 3 dayIf you’re not needing a full tang knife like the Garberg than this is great. The blade profile works amazingly for finer work such as food preparation. High quality Swedish made knife.
