Some time ago I did my first tire change on my motorcycle. It took me almost 6 freaking hours to get those tires off the rims and install them back! Then I decided to invest some money in proper tools as no way I would allow to spent so much time on the trail. So I did. With this tool it took me 30 minutes to do the same operation one more time for both tires. This tool is not made of steel but rather of some sort pretty tough metal (not allow I think) so its lightweight enough to keep it with me while riding all the time. Highly recommend it to all DIY mechanics who prefer to do their tire change on their own! It will save a lot of time!

Given this item 4 stars, as the BeadPro does what it says on the box. Breaks Motorcycle tyre beads. I ordered the item after having a flat tyre on my Triumph Bonneville about 50ks from the nearest town in Top end of Australia, which is basically outback, thus no phone reception. Triumph Bonnevilles have tubed tyres, thus plugging wasnt an option! Therefore I was stuck on the side of the highway for many many hours. One trouble with the Triumph Bonneville, is there is very little room available to carry toolkits, however, there is some limited space under the seat. The Beadpro Tire breaker, fits nicely under the seat, together with some other essential tools, thus allowing the possibility of some form of self recovery. The BeadPro is compact, strong and light thus portable and a very useful bit of kit. The only reason i havent given it five stars is because is life length is untested, being a new item. But I am sure it will prove to be an asset for a good number of years Hewie Darwin Australia

Didn’t know there was a difference between the two styles and these aluminum ones are SHORT. If you need ones that actually work for anything bigger than a bicycle tire, get the steel ones.

Lightweight is not a good idea when looking for leverage. These things were not worth the aluminum they were made out of. Took forever to break the bead on my tire and they worked even worse as tire spoons. Ended up scratching my rims and I ended up using crow bars after wasting way too much time and energy with these things. I returned them and bought a regular set of spoons for a third of the price. A friend has the regular (forged steel) set which he says work good. Go with those if you are looking for a multi-tool (bead breaker and spoons in one). I bought a dedicated bead breaker and a normal set of spoons. BTW, the tire was the front tire off of my FJR 1300. I did the back tire (much bigger) with my new tools and it was so much easier and done in a third the time.

Stop reading and just buy them. They do exactly what they are advertised to do. The construction of these tools looks to have had a lot of thought put into it. They are strong and light. I put a tremendous amount of force on them while dismounting my VStroms rear tire and at no time did I feel at risk from them slipping or breaking. The inner bead area on the tire wasnt so much as scratched and as the headline says, this was my first time ever working on my bike. They were plenty long to get the leverage I needed to do the job, but not so long as to get in the way. Also the compact size of these will make it easy to store them on my bike for roadside emergencies. I was really impressed how well the bead break function worked. I wrapped the spoon end with a rag to protect my hands and began working the tool. I chose spots about 4 apart on my rim and just continued to press a little, spot by spot, with a little Windex for lubes, until 1/3 of the way around the bead started slipping down in to the tire. Flipped the tire over and repeated the process. The spoon part did well on gripping the bead and this is where a longer tool might have been an issue. I was able to get the end of tool lower than the bead because the tool was short enough to miss the hub. I also strongly recommend the Motion Pro rim protectors. I used them as a part of this process and had I not, my powder coated mags would have chewed up pretty bed.

Ive had these for a few months and everything I read about them is first rate. They are well made and sure look as though they will do the job. Fortunately, I have not had the occasion to have had to use them, and it will not bother me in the slightest if I never do !

This kit, paired with the appropriately sized Motion Pro axle nut lever tool give you a complete set of tools to remove your rear wheel and change a flat tube. I have a set on all my tubed bikes. Its lightweight and packs well. Great stuff. A bit expensive, but its a very specialized tool, and is well made.

I wanted to avoid scratching up my fancy gold wheels fitted to the Honda Africa Twin. This was the perfect tool to break the bead easilty and without drama. This coupled with a Baja no pinch makes tire changes a peach.
