Helps keep chain from coming off because of the narrow wide profile. Color is darker than whats pictured, though.

Just mounted this on my 2013 Rumblefish Pro - for a 1 x 10 conversion with the one up conversion sprocket. What an amazing change? I love not having a front derailleur. http://www.oneupcomponents.com

Best choice for a 1x11 setup if you read reviews from several MTB boards. The narrow wide design does a great job at keeping the chain in place. Before upgrading my sons rear cassette he had a 1x8 and the chain came off one time after he jumped a curb. After we switched the cassette to an 11 speed and used the narrower 1x11 chain, it has not come off since.

Ive had it on for ~500 miles and have not dropped a chain yet, despite riding pretty rocky trails. It is noisier than a conventional chainring, but I think thats a narrow-wide thing and not particular to this chanring.

Beautiful chainring. I have it installed in a RaceFace Atlas AM crank with an SRAM X9 9-speed R/D and chain and it works amazing. I removed the 24t chainring and the bash plate and put the Race Face Crank Arm Outer Tab Spacers to have a single and clean ring without chainguide. I can be used with the bashplate as well and you wont need the spacers. Recommended if you want to get rid of your font derailleur, save weight and look awesome!

This is one of the best upgrades I have made in a long time. I thought I was going to miss having all of the extra gearing, but I really dont miss it at all. I went with a 30T and left the original 10-speed cassette intact. No need for a wolf-tooth and any rear cassette. After a few rides, my legs were plenty strong and all I notice is that I have one less thing to fumble around with on my left hand and that I still have 95% of my original gearing options. I have this paired with a clutched rear derailleur and have not dropped a chain once. No chain guide needed! Just beware - the 30T can only be installed with the race face graphics facing outward due to the spacing provided on that side so that the chain doesnt rub against your cranks. Larger tooth configs may be installed either side facing out.
