Racor - PBH-1R, Bike Storage, Garage Pulley Lift

> 3 dayThis bike lift appears to be of great quality and works great! Installation was not very difficult (but make sure you have a good stud finder or some other way of making sure the screws are drilled in the center of the 2X4s), and raising and lowering the bike is even easier! The pulley system helps distribute the weight in such a way that it is not as hard as you would think lifting or lowering a 40 pound mountain bike. It feels like it about cuts the weight in half. There is also a catch on the end of the pulley so that even if you let go of the rope, the bike stays where its at rather than crashes to the ground! The catch works so well, it almost seems that the rope-tie thing mounted to the wall is redundant (but redundancy never hurt anyone right?, and plus it gets the rope out of the way). The way the catch works is somewhat like vertical blinds. If you pull straight down or towards the wall mounted rope-tie thing, it will only raise the bike and wont lower them. You have to pull the rope back the other direction away from the wall to release the catch, and then keep the rope at that angle while lowering the bike. It really works great. My wife and I bought two of them for our bikes and love them! If youre worried about whether the hood of your vehicle will fit underneath the raised bikes, measure how tall your bike is and then add about 10 inches or so to tell you how low they will hang from the ceiling (the handle bars/seat of our bikes are around 8-10 inches from the ceiling when fully raised). Overall, this lift is very well made, easy to use, saves tons of space, and is a great deal! Solid five stars!

> 3 dayI picked up the Racor bike lift to store a Yakima SpaceBooster storage box and it works great! I was able to lift the box 6.5 ft. above the floor and take advantage of the space below it. The installation was simple and the instructions well written. This is a great buy.

> 3 dayI saw reviews for this rack (which was $19.99) and a review for a different rack (which was $14.99) written by someone who had purchased both of them and recommended the less expensive one because he thought they both worked about the same but the more expensive one was made from somewhat better parts. I thought that for $5.00 I would go for the higher quality model. I bought 2 of them and one of them was missing one of the 2 main hooks and they both had pretty frayed ropes. I complained and they did send me a new rope and a replacement hook. The hook was not the same as the originals and I had to try to bend it into the right shape. Not as good but it worked and I wasnt interested in investing any more time and effort into correcting the situation. As far as the big picture goes, the hoist works pretty well. It could have just been less hassle. Also - I would opt for the cheaper one.

> 3 dayeasy to install, even for me! Aseasoned pro would take about 15min to put this thing up but it took me around an hour. Still so worth it & frees up a lot of space in the garage!! Thx!!

> 3 dayIt was easy to install. Just make sure that you measure out where the handles and seat are and give it a little more. I put the pulleys where it measured to and when you pull it up, it goes up on an angle seat first. I was too lazy to take it back down and do it again so it stays and works.

> 3 dayThis a simple harness that does require some handiwork to install. Works very well. Keeps the bike out of the way and easy to bring down.

> 3 dayI bought two of these, one for my husbands bike and one for my daughters. They are perfect for our tiny one car garage! Both bikes are safely overhead and my 7 year old can get her bike down easily!
