Best locks on the market... Magnetic key works through 1.5 of wood, has a bypass to disable if you will need constant access, and keeps the kids out. Please note the instructions work for a typical installation, but depending on your kitchen, such as drawers with a complete box and a seperate door face you may need to create your own mouting plan.

These were difficult for my husband - a construction worker who builds houses - to figure out how to install on our full overlay cabinets. But nothing else would work right - we tried others, but the latch never would line up right due to the overlay doors. He finally got them installed - unfortunately, he split wood on the inside of the cabinets, but they do work, and well. My son was a little upset once he realized he couldnt get into his favorite two cabinets - where the mixing bowls and serving spoons and spatulas are kept!

WE love this! Super easy to install and looks good too (because it is hidden inside the cabinet!) I was surprised how easy they made it to install. So far, they have worked perfectly. We put locks in the kitchen and both bathrooms. What I really like is that you can turn the locks on and off. We put them in our master bathroom but our 10 month old isnt in there very much so we keep them turned off unless he is in there while I get ready.

They are ok, there are magnets in the lock part itself so where I wanted to place the lock it was picking up on the metal staple in the corner of the cabinet door and holding itself unlocked. I had to move them away from the corner and further from the handle to get them to work which now makes opening the door a two-handed affair. Otherwise easy to install and function as described.

We started with the plastic push down cabinet locks and my 1 year old figured those out right away, so on to to plan B which was the Safety 1st Magnetic locks and they work perfectly. I also like the fact that you can turn them off when not in use. Although keep that key in a safe place. Weve had to buy a spare because the magnet clinged on to something else and left the house at some point :)

I absolutely love these - except for the fact they are so hard to figure out how to install. It took me 40 minutes to install the first one. Though there are thorough instructions in every language, it is impossible to make out the photos. Once installed, I love them!!! They work great, are incredibly sturdy and you cant see anything! Now, if the manufacturer would just come to my house and install them, I would be completely thrilled! :)

These locks work well and theyre super secure. Unless your toddler can rig up a reasonably strong electromagnet. But then youve got bigger problems. The locks can be set to stay open if the kids arent around and you need easier access. The magnetic key works fairly well. Installation isnt the easiest, and the paper template could be better. I had some cabinets where I just couldnt mount these locks and had to find alternatives. Still, as long as you can keep the key out of reach, these are about secure as toddler locks get.

Maybe these aren’t necessary when it comes to child proofing and you could opt for the cheaper ones, but let me tell you my primary reason why I love these the most.. my daughter doesn’t pull on the cabinets with these on them, repeatedly banging them ever-so-slightly open and shut like what she does with the cheapo cabinet locks that allow the cabinet to open a tad. That’s a sanity-saver right there. I also love that these can be disabled if need be. I stick the key on the frig when not in use.

So awesome these things are way better than the old plastic latches i used to have that my kid figured out not long after install. These keep my cabinet doors and drawers closed tighter as well. Install was a breeze with the included template.

We like these so much we have purchased them three different times and have them on all the lower cabinet doors in our house. We have a very curious and adventurous 20 month old and these have worked wonderfully to keep her safe (and keep us sane). They are sturdy and professional looking. The magnet locking system gives it a cleaner feel rather than having to wedge your fingers in between the door to unhinge the lock. Theres also no way to open these doors as a child outside of tearing off the mechanism (which if installed correctly would be very difficult to do). The BEST thing about these locks though is that they can be disengaged without dismantling anything. There is a little button that will set it to unlock so if the kids are gone or you have company over you dont have to continue to use the magnet key to unlock. Also nice if your oldest child no longer messes with the cabinets, but then you have a second who has started to become inquisitive. Rather than reinstall new locks, just flip the switch! The biggest and only con I have with this item is that they are kind of a pain to install. The angles with which you are drilling are a little hard on the body. Once youve installed about 20 of them you get pretty efficient at doing it. However, that doesnt mean a few choice adult words arent used during their installation.
