We had weirdly shaped cupboards, of course, so it took a while to figure out how to install the locks such that we wouldnt have finger-pinching gaps. But we did, and they work great! Four locks is not very many, since what I tend to think of as one cabinet is actually two doors. Even though I bought an extra magnetic key I probably wouldve been better off buying more locks (each package of four locks comes with a key) and sealing off more cupboards.

Works as advertised. Be careful not to over-tighten the screws on the catches or they will crack (theyre plastic). If youre screwing these in by hand, you wont have this problem. If youre using a cordless drill, be sure to adjust your max torque settings appropriately!

Two of my children have used these for their little ones and they are a great answer to keeping little hands out of places they dont belong. I especially like the fact that I can switch them off when the little ones arent visiting and not be locked out of my cabinets all of the time.

Im very impressed with these locks. They secure the cabinets much better than the more traditional style safety locks. My daughter cant even get her little fingers in there at all. The cheaper ones leave room for kids to get a grip on the cabinet and occasionally pop them open which defeats the purpose. I also really like the option to switch the locks off so I dont have to keep using the key (magnet) to unlock the doors everytime if Im cooking a lot that day. It can be a little annoying to have to use the key everytime on multiple cabinets. Overall Im very secure my daughter wont get into the cabinet with cleanin supplies. Also note that if you lose the key (magnet) any slightly strong magnet should do the trick.

When these works, theyre great. Weve had two issues: 1) They dont fit on all of our cabinets. It seems you need to have a certain type of drawer/cabinet for this to work -- like it needs an extra piece of wood sticking out of the inner side of the drawer/cabinet for things to align. So these wont work on half of our cabinets. 2) The one we put on our utensil drawer broke. And we replaced it with another one, and it broke again. Replaced, and broke again. I dont know if its a frequency of use thing, or if its because that drawer gets warm from having a heating vent right below it... suspecting the latter since it broke three times in just a few weeks...

I bought the 12-pack since we have a lot of drawers and cabinets that are within our babys reach. These are great since they can be installed anywhere and not just at the very top of the cabinet. (Yes, we have to use hardware to install these but I prefer this method over the adhesive type which may not be as secure and it can ruin the finish when removed.) The magnetic key also works well and we simply store it on the fridge when not in use.

These were difficult for my husband - a construction worker who builds houses - to figure out how to install on our full overlay cabinets. But nothing else would work right - we tried others, but the latch never would line up right due to the overlay doors. He finally got them installed - unfortunately, he split wood on the inside of the cabinets, but they do work, and well. My son was a little upset once he realized he couldnt get into his favorite two cabinets - where the mixing bowls and serving spoons and spatulas are kept!

Loved how easy it was to install and that you can leave it in the unlocked position for when baby isnt quite crawling yet. These installed quickly and I like them a lot better than the other odd plastic catches of other baby proofing items.

The Kidco S3362 is easier to install, but doesnt work nearly as well, at least not on my cabinets. My only beef with this product is the install template they give is neither intuitive nor effective. If they could steal a page from the Kidco playbook on the installation they would have a home run.

We like these so much we have purchased them three different times and have them on all the lower cabinet doors in our house. We have a very curious and adventurous 20 month old and these have worked wonderfully to keep her safe (and keep us sane). They are sturdy and professional looking. The magnet locking system gives it a cleaner feel rather than having to wedge your fingers in between the door to unhinge the lock. Theres also no way to open these doors as a child outside of tearing off the mechanism (which if installed correctly would be very difficult to do). The BEST thing about these locks though is that they can be disengaged without dismantling anything. There is a little button that will set it to unlock so if the kids are gone or you have company over you dont have to continue to use the magnet key to unlock. Also nice if your oldest child no longer messes with the cabinets, but then you have a second who has started to become inquisitive. Rather than reinstall new locks, just flip the switch! The biggest and only con I have with this item is that they are kind of a pain to install. The angles with which you are drilling are a little hard on the body. Once youve installed about 20 of them you get pretty efficient at doing it. However, that doesnt mean a few choice adult words arent used during their installation.
