14-04-2025After reading reviews about many types of cabinet childproofing products, we decided to buy these. Theyre a bit more costly, but much more effective in keeping baby out of the cabinets than the cheaper ones. Our baby loves to open the kitchen cabinets and has started to pull out pans and glass dishes recently. I cant reorganize the cabinets to allow him some exploration and play space in the kitchen, so instead of constantly saying no, no, no I decided to make it a moot point by removing the temptation of opening and closing the cabinet doors. The morning after we installed these, he crawled over, pulled himself up, and tried to pull on the knob to open the door. He attempted a few times, but quickly got bored and crawled away. Effective! Installation was a little frustrating for the first one, but once we figured it out, the others were quick to install (maybe 4 minutes each, but the first one took us about 20 mins). Weve ordered more, to put on the rest of our kitchen cabinets and on the bathroom ones, too. Were pleased with this product, and were glad we didnt waste the time installing the cheaper plastic latches that most kiddos eventually learn how to use. Minus 1 star because only 1 magnetic key is included...what happens if we lose it, or lock it inside the cabinet? It would take a few days to buy another one...

Greater than one weekWe bought these for our gun cabinet and even a grown adult cannot open the doors. On the longer door we had to use two locks because with enough force the bottom part of the door opens a bit but on the smaller doors there is no way it will open without the magnet. If its adult proof it sure will be toddler proof. PROS: Lock is hidden unable to try to pick it or open with just any magnet. CONS: Instructions on how to install.

> 3 dayWe have a very curious 19 month old, who has discovered the joy of rummaging through everything he can get his little hands on. The need arose to lock some of the kitchen cabinets and drawers, and after much time doing research, I purchased 2 4-packs of these based upon the reviews of others. The distinguishing features of these are: easy to disable auto locking feature, quality of construction, and strength of lock when locked (FYI: NONE of the adhesive mounted locks work well at all). Each set of 4 comes with 4 mounting templates, screws, and 1 unlocking magnet key. In addition to the 4 screws used to mount the lock to the drawer/cabinet and the 2 to mount the strikeplate to the frame, it is necessary to drill a 9/16 hole under the lock body to accept the unlock pin, which protrudes into the cabinet material and is activated with the key. This hole must be deep enough to have its floor about 1/8 from the outside face of the cabinet, in order for the magnet to successfully penetrate the depth of the material. I tell you this because if, at some point in the future you no longer need these and remove them, the locking pin hole will need to be backfilled with wood putty, as it is large and deep. That said, these do work very well. The first lock took about 45 minutes to install, and subsequent ones about 20 minutes. The included templates work quite well, although some manual adjustments will be necessary for drawers with false faceplates, etc.

> 3 dayMagical locks. Keeps my toddler out of all the things without having ugly latches on all my cabinets- especially the ikea type cabinets that dont have a ridge for a latch to sit on. He cant figure these out either, because the latch isnt at all visible.

> 3 dayInstallation is straightforward on cabinets. Drawers can be a little difficult because there often isnt a surface to mount the catch or space to manuever a power drill. I had to make shim blocks to mount the latch on, but no other adaptations were necessary.

> 3 dayThese were difficult for my husband - a construction worker who builds houses - to figure out how to install on our full overlay cabinets. But nothing else would work right - we tried others, but the latch never would line up right due to the overlay doors. He finally got them installed - unfortunately, he split wood on the inside of the cabinets, but they do work, and well. My son was a little upset once he realized he couldnt get into his favorite two cabinets - where the mixing bowls and serving spoons and spatulas are kept!

> 3 dayI installed the previous version (Tot Loks) at my old house. LOVED them. Went to buy more (for a new house) and saw these. I love these even more. Installation was MUCH, MUCH, MUCH easier. The locks seem to open easier (with the key). By this I mean that it seems that I dont need to be as precise with the key placement in order to get the doors to open. They are more plasticky than the Tot Loks, and I was concerned that they might break. But, that hasnt been a problem. Pros: Totally hidden locks. Easy to use. Can disengage (and re-engage) instantly and easily. Extremely safe. Very much improved installation (vs previous version) Cons: Have to be installed. Potential to damage cabinets during installation (if not careful). Im still firmly in the baby years, but I actually love these beyond babyproofing. I love being able to lock bathroom cabinets when guests are over (to avoid an busy-bodies rumaging through my stuff). If I didnt already have TONS of spare magnentic keys from my Tot Lok sets, Id recommend buying the smaller sets. That way you end up with more keys. More keys = better. Youre bound to misplace them (or lock them inside the cabinets) from time to time. Its nice to have a key in each bathroom and a few in the kitchen.

Greater than one weekMy son HATES these. He is currently on a mission to figure out how the keys work. I caught him with one the other day, rubbing it all over the door (on the wrong side, luckily). He gave up in a huff and dropped the key. I guess its just a matter of time, but so far he hasnt been able to pry the doors open or figure out the system, and that has made out live SO much easier...

> 3 dayThese work great, it is nice that you can turn them off and on. The installation is a little tricky but no prob once you get the hang of it.

13-04-2025These are great cabinet locks! They are very nicely made and packaged. Read through the instructions several times to understand everything completely. In my opinion, very easy to install.. especially after the first one. Make sure to tape off 3/8 on your drill bit so you know when to stop drilling or else you will go through your cabinet door. I purchased 2 of these sets (each come with 4 locks and 1 key) so I ended up with 2 keys which is nice. If you purchase the larger pack which comes with 8 locks then you will only have 1 key per 8. Same price too. Cabinet doors dont have any give so their little fingers cant get between the cabinet door and cabinet. Get them!
