> 3 dayI installed the previous version (Tot Loks) at my old house. LOVED them. Went to buy more (for a new house) and saw these. I love these even more. Installation was MUCH, MUCH, MUCH easier. The locks seem to open easier (with the key). By this I mean that it seems that I dont need to be as precise with the key placement in order to get the doors to open. They are more plasticky than the Tot Loks, and I was concerned that they might break. But, that hasnt been a problem. Pros: Totally hidden locks. Easy to use. Can disengage (and re-engage) instantly and easily. Extremely safe. Very much improved installation (vs previous version) Cons: Have to be installed. Potential to damage cabinets during installation (if not careful). Im still firmly in the baby years, but I actually love these beyond babyproofing. I love being able to lock bathroom cabinets when guests are over (to avoid an busy-bodies rumaging through my stuff). If I didnt already have TONS of spare magnentic keys from my Tot Lok sets, Id recommend buying the smaller sets. That way you end up with more keys. More keys = better. Youre bound to misplace them (or lock them inside the cabinets) from time to time. Its nice to have a key in each bathroom and a few in the kitchen.

Greater than one weekThese locks work well and theyre super secure. Unless your toddler can rig up a reasonably strong electromagnet. But then youve got bigger problems. The locks can be set to stay open if the kids arent around and you need easier access. The magnetic key works fairly well. Installation isnt the easiest, and the paper template could be better. I had some cabinets where I just couldnt mount these locks and had to find alternatives. Still, as long as you can keep the key out of reach, these are about secure as toddler locks get.

> 3 dayInstallation is straightforward on cabinets. Drawers can be a little difficult because there often isnt a surface to mount the catch or space to manuever a power drill. I had to make shim blocks to mount the latch on, but no other adaptations were necessary.

> 3 dayPurchased for a home daycare. Boyfriend had to install, took a bit of time to do all kitchen drawers, but work perfectly. Magnet unlocks, kids can’t open the drawers.

> 3 dayThis could be a great product, BUT the support is terrible. We started installing the product over the weekend. The package includes an innovative template that sticks to the cabinet door so you can drill the holes correctly. The adhesive is basically double stick tape and is covered by a waxy paper. Unfortunately, removing the paper also removed the adhesive. We contacted support to get some additional templates to replace the defective ones and were told, Unfortunately, these locking systems do not have parts available to send. So, if there is something missing from the package, or defective... you would have to return the entire product for the very inexpensive templates. Sorry thats not really an acceptable answer these days. So, if you go ahead and buy the product, inspect it quickly. If ANYTHING even looks wrong, return it immediately. Dont wait, and dont expect any help from support.

13-04-2025These locks were very easy to install and are very effective in keeping my 14 month old son out of my desk. He is a very strong kid, to give an example he pushes a Sams grocery cart, which is twice the size of a regular grocery cart, with a 42 lb bag of dog food in it all the way through Sams and through the parking lot to the car. Without any help. So when I say hes strong Im not exaggerating. Once the lock is engaged I would venture to say that it would take a pry bar to open it without the key. The price was right too. I shopped around and comared to other brand name magnetic locks these were hands down the best deal going. The same type of lock in a different brand name cost three times as much and you have to purchase the key separate.

> 3 dayI recently inherited a 100+ year old hutch that has been in the family forever. The keys for the built-in lock were lost decades ago and the locks are rusted solid, anyway. These baby locks are a great way to keep my toddler out of the hutch without detracting from the external appearance. I just wave the key on the wood until I hear a click, and then the doors magically open.

> 3 dayMake sure that you are very comfortable with a power drill and have a gentle hand before endeavoring to install these. It is a tricky to install and the instructions arent super clear. But once you get them in place, they are fabulous. I love that we can leave them unlocked when our baby isnt around and lock them when he is here. And the magnet idea makes it really easy to open once you figure out the invisible spot to place it on at the door.

> 3 dayWe started with the plastic push down cabinet locks and my 1 year old figured those out right away, so on to to plan B which was the Safety 1st Magnetic locks and they work perfectly. I also like the fact that you can turn them off when not in use. Although keep that key in a safe place. Weve had to buy a spare because the magnet clinged on to something else and left the house at some point :)

> 3 dayMy son was obsessed with our exterior door baby locks and kept pulling them off as soon as he saw that one was loose or unlocked. These locks work great, as there is no external hardware. Now my son simply tries to open a cabinet and walks away when he realizes that it doesnt open. There are two swithes on the lock that keep them locked or unlocked. That works well when you dont want your cabinet to be locked at all times or if someone needs to babyproof their house on occasion, but not all of the time. I just stick the key to my fridge (magnet) so I wont lose it. It does take some getting used to, as you cant see the lock from the outside of the cabinet to remind you it is there, but it sure does beat having to mess with external locks while trying to get into your cabinet. I also like that the cabinet wont open the slightest bit while being pulled on, which keeps my sons fingers from getting pinched. I would highly recommend this product.
