Seachem Acid Buffer 300gram

It works but DOES NOT TAKE MUCH!!! Will drop pH like a bad habit with a PINCH of the stuff in 125 gallon tank. Won’t raise phosphate and will last for a year or so lol

Bought this to try and lower the pH of my small, (300 gal) pond. Used the entire jar within a few days time, and the pH did not drop at all.

Changing a large tank from marine to fresh, takes time and help to get the ph down, hope to be ready to add fish at some point, this is making it happen

The buffer is useless. Ph will rebound very quickly. I read some review and then bought it, please dont mislead buyer.

The bottle was fully open, cap off, inside the shipping envelope. Small amounts of product were pouring out of the envelope before I opened it. This created a mess that I had to vaccuum up in my kitchen. I then poured most of it back into the original bottle which did not appear to be damaged.

Love seachem products, and wont order any other brand.

It works! My local tap is very basic (8.2) and though my tetras were living just fine in it I always knew they desired more neutral waters. Sure enough, as I gradually lowered the pH (this product as well as the acid buffer) I noticed more activity and appetite in my fish and they look great!

Ill keep this simple for the layman. If you have acid/base issue and need to acidify a fish tank, but you are worried about using phosphate buffers with a planted aquarium or you have very hard water where phosphate buffers may pose an algae or cloudiness problem, then use Acid Buffer - a non-phosphate buffer. Seachem makes great products and when used as directed this product does exactly what you ask of it. I was very pleased at the effectiveness of the product and my fish and plants have tolerated it well. Ive also not seen any algae bloom.

It does its job but in a planted aquarium that does not do RO, this must be added daily continuously. Lowers pH slow enough for safety of fish.
