> 24 hourI was really excited to get these because of all of the great reviews. Unfortunately, I am disappointed with my purchase. I just installed one of these switches and immediately noticed that the minimum dim level is not nearly as dim as my lutron dimmer. I enjoy having very dim lights while watching TV at night so I can still see my surroundings, but also not blind me and glare on the TV. My picture shows the comparison of the Lutron dimmer (left) and the Meross dimmer (right) both set to their minimum levels. The lights are exactly the same so this is strictly the dimmer causing the difference. Excuse my mess, I am in the middle of a remodel. I will likely be returning these switches because the minimum dim level is very important to me. I still left 4 stars because everything else worked very well. Google integration was easy, installation was easy, and the Meross app was very easy to use.

> 24 hourFits regular gang box and double gang box and triple gangbox without a problem Need to connect neutral (which is usually always in the electric gang passing through - pretty straight forward. works great with alexa. looks nice and fits normal Home depot covers. Nice thing about this - is we lost WIFI (Comcast!) - and you can operate this manually and dim them manually. Also - when they are on - there is a blue ON led and GREEN brightness LED - looks very techy in the house - we like it... there are 5 settings for dimming - 20/40/60/80/100 percent of power. When having alexa dim and manual operation - it dims 20 percent at a time.

> 24 hourAs title states, with all four wires present in the junction box the install is extremely easy. If any of the four are missing (specifically white might sometimes be elsewhere), then the light switch wont function as intended. If you do have all four wires, this switch is extremely easy to use and calibrate. I use mine with Google Home and it functions perfectly! The Meross app also allows you to set up schedules outside of the ones Google Home has.

> 24 hourI have been using the meross plugs for several years. In our new home we have installed the Smart Dimmer Switch in six locations and they work great. The price is extremely competitive to a just a dimmer from your local big box store, but now we have all the added features of a WiFi smart switch. Meross is a trusted brand with great customer service if you have any questions on the DIY, I found the instructions provided through the app to be right on track for an easy DIY install. Recommend when responding to firmware updates to complete each one individually instead of update all.

> 24 hourIve been a fan of the Meross Homekit switches for a while now. Great affordable option. When you first take a look at them they have wires coming out of the back that would make you think itd fill up the box too much to fit but I had no troubles. Id prefer to have the insert in the back for the wires instead but oh well... once its in, its never an issue again. Im glad to see them coming out with more (affordable) options for Homekit!

> 24 hourUpdate: I love this brand and will continue to buy, but they have changed the design of their switches. So now I have 4 light switches that won’t match as I continue to buy and replace old ones. These are great for the money. I’m no electrician but I was able to hook up this 3 gang switch. The far left is a 3 way dimmer. The two on the right are the regular dimmer. Easy to connect to WiFi with the app. Work great with google home. Good instructions. I docked a star bc the LED lights on the switches themselves are a little much. Wish there was a way to dim them.

> 24 hourReplaced and under cabinet kitchen lights switch. Works great and Im was/am really impressed with the easy of installation, both physical and app. Physical installation was simple enough at the switch has your standard two connections (line & load), so that part was easy as it doesnt matter which wire connects to which lead on the switch, which are labeled well on the switch. As I was installing this in a two gang box I had a power plug, next door, which gave me access to a neutral wire, which is required for the smart part of the switch to work. Please make sure you have a neutral wire in the box you are installing the switch in, otherwise it wont work, unless of course you run a new neutral (either from the panel or from a closer location. If you do that please follow your local municipalities electrical practices or high an electrician). The app worked well better than I thought it would, which is a very nice plus. It quickly found the device and within minutes I was able to turn on/off & dim the lights. I opened Google Home (my preference) and added Meross to my home and the switch was there. Ive been testing both the Hey Google and the app incessantly and neither has failed yet, which is very impressive. Overall great product, great integration to my smart home and simple enough installation. Im very pleased.

> 24 hourWhen thinking about the pros and cons, I can normally knit pick at things, however there really wasn’t much as a con. This WiFi smart dimmable light switch was simple to install, intuitive to use, and connected easily with the Meross app. Using the app was easy and self explanatory when setting up the switch, I had them up in a matter of 5 min. Scheduling my on/off times worked nicely and I liked the options of using sunset/sunrise as the base time so that it adjusts as daylight adjusts through the year. Has good WiFi range and although at one point it hiccuped with a slight delay when dimming for testing, killing the app and restarting resumed nicely for the switch they was pretty far from the router. The one thing I think could make this even better is having the ability to set dim % with the scheduling so it doesn’t just use the last setting. Note: you do need a neutral line and make sure to connect the ground as well to ensure the switch is properly grounded.

> 24 hourGreat functionality… yet terrible appearance in the family of products. I recently decided to automate our home using the Alexa app. After purchasing the dot & echo controllers I first tackled the lights we wanted to automate. This required 3 types of wall switches including 6 switches in total. I wanted to stay with a single product family to reduce the number of apps working with Alexa. I had hoped this would also give us a unified appearance in the switch products. That is NOT the case with the Meross product line. What is good about the switch devices: • They work well with Alexa • After the 1st device installation, it is very easy to add new devices to the Meross app. The 1st device “failed” to install during a device update phase. After the 3rd try the update said it failed yet the device worked??? All 6 devices are working fine at this point. Integrating the devices with Alexa was simple. • No noticeable lag between the Alexa app and the device doing an action. • All devices functionally work as described. This includes the one device 3-way switch. • The devices have very good WiFi reception. What is very annoying about the device family: • Each device has a different appearance. Most users do not want to notice their light switches. Yet the Meross family of switches seem to try to be noticed with each switch type trying to be different. o Each switch has a different LED color when the switch is off. Why even have a LED when the switch is off? When off, the SPST switch has a bright blue LED lit, the 3-way switch had a dim green LED lit when off, and the 3-way dimmable switch has a red LED lit when off. The blue is very annoying at night and the red should indicate an error not that the switch is off. What gives? o The SPST switch has a translucent white switch face while the other switch faces are solid white. o The 3-way dimmable switch has bright blue LEDs lit when the switch is on. While this is a good indicator of the dimmable light intensity the blue LEDs are too bright and annoying at night. 2 of the switches are in the same outlet box thus the differences are very noticeable. In my opinion blue is too eye catching and distracting for a light switch. The different plastic switch face colors are terrible when viewed but side by side…. All in all, the switches work well yet I would not recommend them and due to the appearance issues.

> 24 hourShort version: Buy Lutron Caseta instead, as it is definitely worth the $10-20 extra per switch. Long Version: I have purchased eight meross switches over the course of the last eighteen months. Initially, I found them fairly easy to install and reasonably reliable though clearly made with fairly cheap materials. A new firmware patch was released last spring (2021), after which the switches behaved erratically. For example, we would find random switches turned on automatically in the middle of the night or simply flash on and off for a few seconds. This was particularly troublesome while asleep, creating temporary panic when the lights would flash on and off to wake my young children. It also made my spouse concerned about the potential fire danger of failing electronics in the wall, whether the concern was warranted or not. As an aside, the Reddit channel on meross has great descriptions of this same problem from multiple users. I did contact support several times and was repeatedly advised that a new firmware version was undergoing “testing” and would be available soon. Several months later, the aforementioned firmware was still not available and the switches continued to flash on and off at random. Further, they consistently became completely unresponsive - in the app, in HomeKit or via touching the actual switch such that all eight of them would require a manual reset every few days by pushing the reset button or flipping the breaker. To mitigate this issue, I did block the switches’ connection to the outside network on my router and that did decrease (but did not eliminate) the frequency of these events. However, this also made me wonder what was being shared from the switches in my home with meross servers far far away (again, discussed by other users in Reddit who have tracked the packets that these switches send out while installed on your local network). After support failed to provide a solution (or refund) despite their claims of standing behind their product, I removed all of the switches and replaced them with Lutron Caseta. Over a month of service, they have been completely solid as both physical switches and in HomeKit - in fact, the only thing in HomeKit that I have found to be 100% reliable. Again, this seems to be universal reading reviews of the Lutron Caseta products which all provide significant praise. In summary, would strongly recommend starting with Lutron Caseta rather than these meross switches. The amount of time and worry that the meross switches caused was well worth the extra $10 / switch spent on Lutron.
