Doesnt lather very well for a premium product; Very overpriced.

I know the price seems high but, its easy to lather, protects your skin and personally it brings back memories of simpler times. This is a triple milled soap that will easily last 6 months with daily use, and I happen to like the White Ceramic bowl and cover. BE FOREWARNED YOULL EITHER LOVE OR HATE THE AROMA, BUT IT LATHERS GREAT, MY MAINSTAY SOAP !!!

Lather was just ok compared to more modern tallow based shave soaps and the lid doesnt attach at all for travel. Also lid is plastic, not eco friendly.

smooth, slick, protecting, almost instant & effortless lather. lather is very creamy, but not excessively stout. seems to lather instantly in either soft or hard water. that scent though. rose + gardenia + dirt. is there a tabacco scent? maybe if tobacco means wet tobacco in a pouch, then maybe, possibly, maybe not. personally i think it smells pretty good, just, not what i call a current rendition of masculine. the warden does not like it though. this is a champion shave though. even if i shave every day, i think this bowl might last about 3 years.

Now this soap shocked me. I am a huge fan of Stirling Soap. Ive used many different kinds over the years and didnt hold out hope that I would like this much. Well, shut my mouth! This soap is incredible. Rich, slick, protective, whips up quickly - it is everything I have wanted and more. Ive been a DE shaver for some 5+ years. I use ATT razors and am very willing to spend on what I want. Tabac, is hard to believe. The price is right. The performance is out of this world. This rose immediately to my #1 position. I think it ties with Stirling for #1. But I can tell you, I would be happy if this soap is all I had. I load my brush for about 30 - 35 seconds. That gives me enough for probably 5 passes. More than I need. If you havent tried this soap, get it now. It is simply THAT good. Seriously, no bull. No one gave this to me, nor gave me a discount, nor anything else. I bought it, and I love it. I will insure I am never without it.

Nice Quality

I have a vast collection of soaps and creams and other shaving gear-I am definitely into this as a hobby as well as for grooming. With that said, Tabac remains a top choice for me. The scent is simply a love it or hate it. It will offend some people, and others will swear by it. However, I dont think anyone can argue the performance...the lather is very high quality, easy to build, has a nice consistency, and is extremely slick. Also, it will last a LONG time. I recommend trying to smell it prior to first buying it, but if you like the scent you will LOVE the soap.

Ive read reviews that say this product either has too much scent, or not enough scent. Those reviews also state that the scent that is observed is too short lived. Well, to each their own, I say. For me, the scent is moderate to light, but not overwhelming, and it smells like several barber shops Ive used (Tipmans Talc, maybe?). The hang time of the scent is noticeable for about 3-4 hours, to me. I also think my cologne lasts that long, too, but Ive had compliments on that long after I thought it was spent, so its also likely you get used to it and just become nose-blind to it, too. In my opinion, it is easier to lather than Mitchells Wool Fat, but it seems thinner. It is just as slick to shave with as MWF, in my opinion. In short, if you are experimenting with something that smells good, lathers quickly, and lasts a while, I would recommend Tabac.

Great lather, love the fragrance. Not too strong, not too old man or feminine. Seems like it will last forever. I only use a few swirls and the lather is thick and creamy.
