The “framing” is sturdy and has good adhesion. It is smooth and doesn’t snag at the kitty’s fur. Our dogs love to peek in to see what’s happening on the other side. We use the door to the laundry room which is in the back hallway. This is visible from our front room so I can now leave the door closed but the kitties stuff have access to their facilities and food. The dogs don’t get in the laundry room and cause trouble either. Of course my ornery cats really like to play on either side of the “door”, too. It’s exactly what I needed.

We wanted a cat door going down to our basement but because the door is very visible we wanted something more attractive than a typical cat door. This did not disappoint. The door is very cute and whimsey.

Easy to follow instructions, customer very happy

So, we have two points of view here: My girlfriend is ecstatic with this thing. It looks cute, the cats have an easy time getting in and out of their little closet, and I managed to install it with completely burning down the house. I, on the other hand, have a few issues with this product that should perhaps be taken into consideration. The most important concern is quality of materials. This thing is some sort of CNC milled composite that I feel will not hold up to years of daily life. Since Ive cut a hole in my door for this cat portal, Id like to be certain that it will last. Maybe offer a premium wood option? My cats arent huge, but they do have to hunch a little to use the door. Finally; the installation process. The template worked fine, but I would have appreciated a sturdier, pre-cut guide for marking the hole. It is given to you as a low-resolution print on standard computer paper; youre meant to cut the paper and trace the outline onto your door. Considering the fact that this is a mildly permanent thing youre doing, it would have been wonderful to at least have the template printed on a heavier stock of paper. Pre-cut would have been great too! Id rather pay an extra buck or two and have everything be more reliable. On the positive side, installation went pretty easy, despite the concern with the template quality. If youre moderately handy, capable of marking and measuring with some reliability, you can install this without great concern. I also like that this will be easy to paint to match our living room!

I purchased the XL Version. My product came sealed in a plastic bag with the necessary parts, an instruction sheet and a template. Regarding the instructions: Fairly simple but, there is a problem when it comes to the template and the instructions: The instructions say to cut the template on the line however, the line is 2-4.5mm wide, depending on which template you get. With that thickness, the difference in choosing to cut on the outside edge of the line or the inside of the line, can be a whole that is 4-9mm larger or smaller. A simple, 1mm line would work fine with either template. Now, onto the bigger problem I had with the kit: I opened the Amazon package, setup my door on a pair of sawhorses, opened the product bag, and followed the instructions: 1. Mark Centerline at bottom of door. 2. Cut out the Template (again, inside or outside edge of line? I chose inside edge). 3. Line up the Template and trace the template onto the door. 4. Saw along the line (I used a jigsaw). I then got the parts and immediately saw that my hole was too small. It was blatantly obvious to me that it wasnt because I chose the inside edge but rather, I was provided with the wrong template. Yes, The Kitty Pass folks gave me the regular template rather than the XL template. Fortunately, they provide the template on their website however, there is bottom border for the XL version of the template so, I had to assume that the bottom of the arc was the cutoff point. The bigger challenge was that I couldnt really, line up the new template because the bottom edge of the door in that area was now missing. With the downloaded XL template (I ensured that I printed it at 100%), I cut to the outside edge of the line and, it still didnt fit properly. The sockets that the provided screws thread into, needed another 3mm on each side and, along the top to line up. Eventually, after a couple widening passes, I was able to get the product mounted. If I had received an actual XL Template, I mightve had a better experience.

Bought this extra large kitty pass through for my daughters 20lb cat. Didnt think he would fit through the smaller one. We have 3 cats total and 2 are normal size. All 3 cats love it and fit perfectly. I installed mine on my cellar door as we keep the litter boxes in the basement. Its a hollow door and was a bit challenging to cut with a circular saw. Once I made a bunch of cuts with that I used my jig saw and it cut super easy. Just wish I had a longer blade. It would have made it much easier from the start and I wouldnt have had to use the circular saw. Installing the front and back of the kitty was easy. The sticky tabs are SUPER sticky so be sure you have it in place before pressing down. They wont undo once on the door. Its been on for a few weeks now and no issues. Highly recommend for larger cats.

Delivered within 48 hours. Ive got a 16 lb Sr. cat and got the XL just in case. Definitely worth the buy.

I spray painted mine gold. I missed some spots that I stupidly didn’t realize would show, so that needs touched up. Our door is one of those cheap hollow doors; they have a wood frame border about 2 inches. We decided to cut above the border to avoid compromising the sturdy wood frame. I am going to use white trim paint to touch that up also. Love the functionality and style.

Works fine, and I managed to get it installed using a dremel, but be cautious that the stencil they provide in the XL kit is actually the wrong size. Much too small. You’ll need to create a new one.

Solid product that solves problems, but the template is the wrong size. A full 1.5 off. This caused me yo havr to make a second cut which on a hollow core door is very difficult and more dangerous as a jigsaw doesnt have the ability to have both feet on the work surface. Fix the template issues and it would be 5 stars
