Greater than one weekI’ve been looking for a solution for my cat to access our laundry room for 9 months. Our hallway is narrow and whomever remodeled the house before us unwisely installed a hinged door rather than a pocket door. So to use the hall the door must either be fully open or fully closed. Well obviously we had to leave it open for the cat. Was going nuts listening to my washer’s spin cycle so I started researching how I was going to convert this door to a pocket door. Two things: that is pretty expensive and while I am very handy, above my home improvement skill level. So I did what I always do when I can’t solve a problem, I turned to my old friend google and voila! This Kitty Pass came up. I was like, wait, what? How much? This must be too good to be true! I ordered this puppy up with a highly skeptical outlook. I was happily surprised at how simple the install was. Took the door ff the hinges, traced the pattern and used my jig saw to cut it out. Sanded the edges and installed the Kitty Pass. Then rehung the door. Total labor time was 30 minutes (including gathering tools and setting up saw horses). Cat walked through it almost immediately. Very happy with this purchase and would recommend to anyone. Side note: I was worried about installing this on my hollow core door but it was not a problem at all!

Greater than one weekIt was really fast to install and works as advertised. The only minor changes I made were to put the back of the doorway (tail end) first with the spacer strip installed to make sure it lined up with the bottom of the door. This was because I dry fitted it first and found out that the front end was easier to line up with the back end installed first. I also had to use a thin piece of metal (file) to push the spacer strip into alignment with the front piece. The cat used the doorway immediately with no issues.

> 3 dayWe have large cats. Their lard butts fit through this door easily. Finally found something on Amazon made in America.

> 3 dayI can say that because I’m a moron when it comes to home projects like cutting a huge hole in your door. After buying a jigsaw, taking a couple of nerve pills - it was easier than I expected with the stencil already in place. Within 10 minutes the door was done. Would highly recommend even if you are on the fence.

> 3 dayOur house has dogs and cats so this helped prevent our cat from being locked into a room by accident while also giving a reprieve from the dogs. We installed it closer to the middle of the door and added a small platform so our cat can use it and not be followed in by our small dogs. Cutting into a hollow core door isn’t “easy” but doable, especially if you have basic tools it can be done in less than 15 minutes.

> 3 dayI purchased the XL Version. My product came sealed in a plastic bag with the necessary parts, an instruction sheet and a template. Regarding the instructions: Fairly simple but, there is a problem when it comes to the template and the instructions: The instructions say to cut the template on the line however, the line is 2-4.5mm wide, depending on which template you get. With that thickness, the difference in choosing to cut on the outside edge of the line or the inside of the line, can be a whole that is 4-9mm larger or smaller. A simple, 1mm line would work fine with either template. Now, onto the bigger problem I had with the kit: I opened the Amazon package, setup my door on a pair of sawhorses, opened the product bag, and followed the instructions: 1. Mark Centerline at bottom of door. 2. Cut out the Template (again, inside or outside edge of line? I chose inside edge). 3. Line up the Template and trace the template onto the door. 4. Saw along the line (I used a jigsaw). I then got the parts and immediately saw that my hole was too small. It was blatantly obvious to me that it wasnt because I chose the inside edge but rather, I was provided with the wrong template. Yes, The Kitty Pass folks gave me the regular template rather than the XL template. Fortunately, they provide the template on their website however, there is bottom border for the XL version of the template so, I had to assume that the bottom of the arc was the cutoff point. The bigger challenge was that I couldnt really, line up the new template because the bottom edge of the door in that area was now missing. With the downloaded XL template (I ensured that I printed it at 100%), I cut to the outside edge of the line and, it still didnt fit properly. The sockets that the provided screws thread into, needed another 3mm on each side and, along the top to line up. Eventually, after a couple widening passes, I was able to get the product mounted. If I had received an actual XL Template, I mightve had a better experience.

> 3 dayThank You to those who left messages on what to expect when cutting the door. It turned out great and I wish I did this sooner!

> 3 dayWe ordered this product because we have three cats. We just moved into our home and there’s no utility room, which is normally where we would keep the cat boxes. We ended up putting the cat boxes in a hall closet that has the water heater in it. I love this cat door because 1) very cute and creative way to make a cat door 2) don’t have to worry about someone shutting the door cause with this cat door the cats can still access their boxes 3) we can close the closet door to keep the dog from eating cat poop. Everyone that has seen it loves it!!!! The item arrived quickly and I have never used a jigsaw but I bout a cheap $25 one off amazon and the results turned out great. We didn’t trace the outline provided because it seemed a little big compared to the actual car door, so we placed the actual product on the door with the little wood liner in it and traced that and cut and turned out great!!!! Seems very adhesive and study!!!

> 3 dayWe put this in our basement door since my cat’s litter is downstairs & it would get a little chilly in the house. So we can keep it closed now & It works great & it looks very cute. Got lots of compliments. Most importantly my cat loves the freedom of going up & down cwhen he wants.

> 3 daythe included template wasn’t even close to the correct size hole that i needed to cut. Was able to figure it out myself, but could be problematic for someone expecting an easy install.
