Easy to install as long as you have a jigsaw or something similar to cut a door. My door was a hollow core door, so solid doors shouldn’t be an issue either. My only concern is that my dog loved to shove her head into our last cat door (house we sold). The last cat door was anchored in place with screws that secured the front and back of the door. This one has double sided sticky tape. I’m afraid if my dog crams her head in this one, it’ll come off. I cleaned the door with rubbing alcohol first, so it should hold well.

Our house has dogs and cats so this helped prevent our cat from being locked into a room by accident while also giving a reprieve from the dogs. We installed it closer to the middle of the door and added a small platform so our cat can use it and not be followed in by our small dogs. Cutting into a hollow core door isn’t “easy” but doable, especially if you have basic tools it can be done in less than 15 minutes.

Super easy to install. Came with easy to use template. I have a very chonky cat that didnt fit through the standard size, so I bought the XL. The XL is too big, my medium size dog army crawls through it to get to where she isnt allowed. I should have taken my dogs size into consideration when looking at the measurements of the XL door opening.

I haven’t installed mine yet but I figured I would write a quick review for this. I had debated on buying the regular sized one, but opted to buy the XL, even though it looked like it might have been overkill for my needs. I have a really Chonky cat and I thought “he SHOULD be able to fit through a 7 inch hole, I could probably get away with just getting the regular size”. I’m glad I went with the XL instead. If you have a fat cat, don’t risk it with the smaller one. Just shoot for the XL. I took this out of the box and immediately laid it over top of him and I am truly astonished by how fat my cat is. Now I can keep the dogs out of the litter box room for good! UPDATE: This was easy to install and came with instructions and a template in the box :) it works as it should, keeping the dogs out of the cat box room while giving even our gargantuan kitty an entry to the potty. Would recommend.

I have a small extra bedroom that is a dedicated litter room, which is great except that I had to leave the door cracked all the time to allow my five cats access and it was so annoying. Not to mention, these little stinkers could sometimes close the door on each other, and thats just bad news! So I decided to put this cat door in and it was a great choice! My boyfriend installed it so I cant say how easy that was, but he says it wasnt an issue at all and it only took him roughly an hour, mostly because he decided to hot glue the seam just in case my little brats try to claw the door off. Overall, its a cute way to frame a cat door and Im so happy that I bought it!

Make sure to get the XL. I have a small cat and a medium cat who just manage to fit. Also I had to have my contractor cut the hole, we didnt want to ruin the door ourselves.

We have large cats. Their lard butts fit through this door easily. Finally found something on Amazon made in America.

so this was the solution to my litter box problems but the stencil for the xl one is way too small. after some adjustments we were able to install. that part was a bit annoying but my cat loves it and my dog now wont get into the litter box

So if you purchase the xl size please check the template against the plastic pieces that go on the door I did not and had to do 2 separate cuts not a big deal if the first one was smaller…I’ll assume the template was the large size car door…my cats started using it after a few hours of inspections…works good keeps my basement door shut so the attic access and stuff mounted in stairwell for living room tv and audio is nicely hidden. And cats can get downstairs much better than door always being cracked and lost heat my thermostat calls less in the evening now….check the template against the plastic pieces make sure it’s the same size as the template or just trace the outside of the piece with the two ears and perfect..

This cat door was very easy to install, works perfectly, and is very very cute! Great purchase. We used a jigsaw to cut a hole in our laundry room door so that the cats can access the litter boxes inside. The instructions were very simple (and so was using the jigsaw for my first time! I was nervous but it was very easy for me to do even as a beginner). The cats immediately took to it, and even our biggest 13lb cat barely has to crouch to get through the opening. The design is absolutely adorable, we get a lot of great reactions and compliments. Really! I didnt anticipate how often guests would see it and laugh with delight - its a hit at parties! Never thought Id say that about a cat door, thats for sure. The material they are made of feels sturdy and does not look cheap. The white color matched my white door perfectly - it looks like they were made together - but the finish could easily be painted to match another color. They have name-brand 3M adhesive strips to attach them and they are very secure, the pieces fit together nicely with the interior strip that covers the gap in the hole of a hollow-core door. Overall this is a great cat door!
