I have used these for years, and just ordered a new set. Ive towed kayaks all of the place, and never had one loosen up on me. The buckle is very low profile, and I seem to get less wind noise than with other straps. The rubber covers work great, and allow you to toss the buckle over the car without worrying about where it will land.

Straps are very easy to work with and the rubber cover is a great addition. We use the with the Thule Kayak Carrier and excellent quality.

Why would you buy anything else!?! I bought these to replace one that I lost. Thule knows car storage and accessories. If you are strapping on things to your car use a Thule product.

Ive used these straps for over 5 years now. They cost a bit more than average and the engineering that makes them better is simple. However, no others have incorporated these simple common sense design aspects. It seems only Thule people have ever actually used their product enough to design it well. 1) Each side of the strap is easy to distinguish from the other, along its full length, so you know when its twisted or flipped. 2) The cam teeth are asymmetrical to capture the strap better. 3) The strap itself is heavy enough its easy to handle, disentangle etc. 4) The end if melted off at an angle so not only does it not unravel, but it forms a stiff point thats much easier to insert through the buckle than others. After years of heavy use and accidental damage (like the dog chewed on it and I continued to use it for years after) I replaced my original pair and added several more to my collection to replace less expensive straps that never performed nearly as well. The original pair never failed, I simply chickened out because the several accidental nicks had worn deeply into the width of the straps in several places. They resisted continuous exposure to the elements and sun along the way.

they hold good and do the job but not so easy to use. Todays new trucks are hight off the ground and I though I could just pull these tight from the ground. you have to hold the it open and pull it though. Making it much harder to get it tight to the rack. Not for my kind of work would not buy again. If you like this type of strap you will love these

These straps are killer. They hold exceptionally well and the rubber guards are the best that I have found. Ill be on the lookout for these sold alone in fact. These particular straps hold two kayaks stacked one on top of the other on a single pair of foam blocks. At highway speeds, there has not been any budging. A quick twist of the straps before latching them together prevents any wind noise. I trust these two straps and bow/stern lines 100%. Great quality for a superb price. The only thing I would change is the color. Plain black straps would be less obnoxious.
