> 3 dayThe learning curve was a little steep for programming. You have no choice but to join and use Radio Reference if you want to program trunks. After a couple days of reading and several attempts, I finally got most of the Police, Fire and Rescue, the State Police and the Public Utilities. I added the GPS and it automatically locks out stuff thats out of range. I only use that in the car because it needs to be plugged into a USB power source or it kills the battery.

> 3 dayUniden BCD325P2 Handheld TrunkTracker V Scanner Audio is crisp and clear, as digital should be. But the dispatchers volume is rather weak. There must be a setting to set Automatic Gain Control other than the one I checked. The real problem is the fact that it quit working on rechargeable batteries. Arrived on time and price was good.

> 3 dayThis scanner is impossible to program without a lot of training. I expected with modern tech that I would just sync it to my computer and it would sync the necessary frequencies for my local trunked system. Not so. It says its programable via PC, but the software is not from Uniden and obsolete. I was trying to replace a nearly 30 year old Radio Shack trunk tracking scanner that was simple to program. I will be returning this. Update: Purchased the SDS 100. While it is twice the cost, it is well worth it.

Greater than one weekSome advice based on my experience, my opinion only . I am amateur radio operator, so I am familiar with frequency databases, and programming radios to hear what I want. 1. The only way to go is to use the free scanner programming software. 2. sign up up for an account on Radio Reference. 3. Use the software to pull the freqs you want form the RR web-site. Once programmed, the BCD325P2 is great to use. Has good sensitivity. This is the best scanner Ive owned. 4. Invest in extra NiMH batteries and a charger. The BCD325 only charges when it is turned off and uses a timer to prevent overcharging which may result in the built-in charger shutting off before the batteries are fully charged resulting in short battery life. Pay attention ! Its a very good scanner.

Greater than one weekThe batteries it comes with need replacing. But the unit is fantastic! I use it daily with no issues at all. Use with chirp to program, makes it so much easier. But replace the batteries.

> 3 dayA lot of distortion on trucking freq. took apart the stock antenna added a paper clip instead and cut it size to clean up some of the distortion. More distortion if you are holding it as opposed to setting it on a counter across the room. Battery life isn’t great but I have 8 rechargeable batteries on a charger. If you’re more serious I guess you have to spend another 250 bucks to get better performance. The speaker is loud on digital but lower on analog and yes I updated the firmware. Knowing what I know now I probably would have either spend more mone or picked another hobby.

> 3 dayThis scanner seems to do well with reception for higher-powered agencies. The only problem I have, and its a pretty big problem, is that the battery life is POOR to say the least! It sat on my desk for 2 days in the off position after being fully charged. Came back to work and it was dead. Had to go back on the charger. While on, Im lucky to get a shift out of it. Has to stay plugged in whenever possible. Perhaps the batteries are bad? Not too sure but the battery life is awful. Not a bad little scanner, though.

Greater than one weekUniden makes good quality stuff, I can’t give less than 5 ⭐️‘s for something I’m sending back only because I can’t program it to do squat, but play fm radio tunes.. Graat* I bought a $300+ radio... Brush up on your nuclear algebraic physicist equations first if you plan on mentally torturing yourself by buying this. Maybe study time travel too perhaps, it might help. If you know how to operate this radio, tell the peeps at NASA I said hello.. *”GOVERNMENT” WARNING* *Wear an aluminum hat when in use*
