> 3 dayThe scanner works great. I am very happy with this purchase. It is definitely not a easy program, but with a little patience can be figured out pretty easily. It also can be programmed with computer software which makes things so much easier. I love how detailed you can get with a programming honestly.

> 3 dayI bought a used BCD325P2 handheld scanner, now I know why it was returned. Reception is sporadic and unit charges when it feels like it. I went ahead and ordered the brand new one. When it DOES work, Im pleased with it. I like to keep abreast of things going on in my neighborhood (had a shooting just the other night). My local police department just switched from analog to digital transmissions and my old scanner no longer picks them up. The unit itself seems to be well built with quality materials (I just happened to get the one bum unit). The battery life leaves much to be desired though.

> 3 dayI am pleased with the BCD325P2 scanner. This is my first digital scanner. I have two analog scanners, only one is still working. I found this rather easy to program manually from the keypad, despite what other reviews have indicated. I was able to program an analog system in about 45 min out of the box. I spent a good deal of time studying the manual online a month before I purchased it, so I was familiar with the radio. I wanted a scanner I can program the systems I want to scan, and not worry about national databases, sd cards, and all the clutter I will not use, so i chose this unit. The only issue I have with it is the receiver. It works very well in a quiet RF environment, but gets wiped out near cellular base stations. This happens on both digital and analog. I live less than a block away from a cell tower, and had to hunt for a spot that it will receive the control channel. I have not had any issues with lsm distortion, as i live 2 miles away from the main site. I am happy with the unit, and would recommend it to anyone.

13-04-2025The batteries it comes with need replacing. But the unit is fantastic! I use it daily with no issues at all. Use with chirp to program, makes it so much easier. But replace the batteries.

> 3 dayA lot of distortion on trucking freq. took apart the stock antenna added a paper clip instead and cut it size to clean up some of the distortion. More distortion if you are holding it as opposed to setting it on a counter across the room. Battery life isn’t great but I have 8 rechargeable batteries on a charger. If you’re more serious I guess you have to spend another 250 bucks to get better performance. The speaker is loud on digital but lower on analog and yes I updated the firmware. Knowing what I know now I probably would have either spend more mone or picked another hobby.
