I bought this drive for $110, and for that price, the capacity, and its read/write performance, I couldnt be happier! Just a note for anyone going to buy it however, read your motherboard manual and see if it changes anything when you install it. I just learned today that it disables my 5th and 6th SATA ports, and thats something of a problem for me, though thankfully the solution was a $10 2.5 drive enclosure for one of my 2 SATA SSDs. Thats of course a limitation of the board, but I thought it might be useful info for a perspective buyer to know! :)

I got two of these for a RAID1 boot disk on a storage server; theyre quick and not too expensive. Sidenote: WD bought SanDisk a while back, and just kind of absorbed them and rebranded some of their SSDs to WD. This thing even *calls* itself a SanDisk in software.

Meets its specs. I am using this as a secondary drive on the motherboard for a dual boot system. It is speedy with Linux Mint loaded on it.

Dead after just shy of 11 months. I should have known something was fishy when everything installed to it initially had some form of spikes in access, but eventually the access to data smoothed and I thought I was in the clear. Now at just shy of 11 months into the purchase, I have a completely dead drive and nearly 1TB of data that is just gone. No forewarning or anything. I have PATA HDDs still lasting 10x as long as this has....

The install slot was hidden under its anodized aluminum cooling block and as this was my first build in about 6 years, there have been MANY changes to hardware (everything has changed! lol!) and install methods since then. Ended up watching several (IMHO) long winded but well structured YouTube HOW-TO videos to glean the proper information. One of which actually showed using the tiny brass half-nut screw to support the far end of this SSD (which was what I needed to know), as the kit I purchased, turned out to be missing this half-nut screw. I was sure there had to be some sort of fixture to secure the SSD in place. After applying the non-conductive cooling mat on top of a small appliance below the SSD install location I was then able to install the SSD in its slot which is when I started to wonder how youre supposed to lock down the far end of the SSD? (the missing hardware). Once you figure all this out you use two screws to lock the fancy looking anodized aluminum-cooling bar, back over the SSD. Not knowing any of this in advance, and with the kit missing the hardware to properly secure the loose end of the SSD made this more challenging (and frustrating, and time consuming) than was necessary. MUCH better instructions in-box and online would have made this whole day-long ordeal, a 20 minute job. Shame on all the manufacturers for not adding better BASIC documentation... You should NOT have to spend HOURS sifting through %#*!!^$ YouTube videos to find simple installation information. OR, to discover the reason you can not figure out HOW to finish the install... Is because the kit is missing an absolutely necessary piece of hardware. Easy to install? I would give 5 stars if this kit had not been missing the brass half-nut screw. There was NO reference to that nut in the instructions that I am aware of or could find. I only discovered this by watching like the 5th or 6th long winded YouTube video... like 2 or three hours later! needless to say, I was not happy. Once it was all figured and installed, it works great! 1TB operating system SSD and its QUICK! Win 10 Pro loads up with everything in about 30 sec! This is a fantastic SSD and works LIGHTENING FAST! Could not be happier with the product in THIS respect! But getting there was a nasty learning experience I do not want to repeat any time soon. lol would have been 5 stars but for the missing part and absolute crap instructions.
