Good quality and installed easily. I really like the color and the batter voltage LED display. One thing to note—some accessories like this use a slightly smaller size male connector for the positive terminal. On this one the positive and negative terminals are the same size with the indicators stamped on the back, between the terminals. Be sure to pay attention to which is which when hooking up the wires.

Bought this to modify one of two ALWAYS ON cigarette lighters in a 2006 Silverado 2500HD. I wanted quick charging right out of the dash; instead of using a car lighter usb charger or bumming off my power tool batteries with a costly usb port adaptor sleeve. The look is excellent, and I liked how it comes with a anti-dust/anti-splash silicone cover. BUT. two things to keep in mind with this particular choice of cig lighter replacement socket: 1. the build of this is greater in diameter than the average (Chevy) lighter socket hole. Which means to do as I did and take a 7/8ths wood spade with a power drill and ream the hole larger. Go easy as the plastic may be brittle and will crack rather than shave. Ream gently at first then test fitment, ream a bit more, test again, ream even more, test... finally fits. the plastic nut is adequate to hold the socket into place. 2. The supplied hot and ground leads are beyond worthless. the mfg. clamps on ring terminals at one end so you do not notice the aluminum alloy wire. it appears well insulated, yet why go to the trouble of pulling the entire lower dash cover off just to get access to the socket only to install this socket replacement with c-rappy wire? It is such VERY low quality wire that may be 18awg non-copper flame igniter. Since GM in their infinite wisdom chose to have both lighter sockets be ALWAYS HOT, search was on to find a way to tap into an ignition-on-only circuit. After a few you-tube videos, found mini fuse tap harnesses with 10A fuses along with 16awg OFC wire (or so it is advertised here on amazon). Meaning, no alluminum alloy fire starting string involved. Once in receipt of the fuse taps, and after finding a dormant ignition only fuse on the lower DS fuse box, and identifying the hot side of the fuse clip, installing a better overall solution for both lighter sockets is achieved. Yes, the USB socket lighter modification is worth doing and this product is great so far: the voltage readout (pre ignition & post) is accurate, did not appear to drain battery after a few hours, (yet I dont want that risk), the color is amazing, and the charge is fast (Samsung 9+ @33%, 1hr 29min to full). If you are willing to go the extra level and ensure: the hot side (at least) is proper metaled and gauged (16 or 14awg depending on the total distance), properly fused and properly ignition only, then this is a great choice. did not take time to search if other usb car lighter socket mods included quality wire.

You might as well not include any wires. They dont reach and you have to add wire if you want to use them.

If you have a step bit or the original hole is proper size for the unit, the install is a snap. If by chance you have to disconnect the provided connectors from the unit, be careful no to pull the device out of its housing. Great display and function.

Was a little bigger than the hole on the dash of my Polaris (for the original ligter hole). Also the connectors were different but once the mods were made it worked great....

Easy to install in the center console of my Jeep TJ. Everything needed for install was included, although i’m not sure why there were ring terminals on the ends of the conductors, I cut them off and soldered longer wires. I wired it to a constant hot but used a small toggle switch mounted beside it, that way we can charge phones with out having the key on and turn the outlet off when the Jeep sits for more than a couple of days.

Ordered one for my pickup to run a dash cam and an inside temp monitor for my K-9. Wanted to hide the connections and cables under the dash. Perfect! ordered 2 more for my RV. 1 Replaced the cigarette lighter in the dash with out modifying the hole, love the battery voltage monitor! have not found the perfect place for the other yet but high marks for an awesome accessory!

This was a great addition to our 2018 EZGO TXT Golf Cart. It was easy to install and both USB charger ports and the digital voltmeter work well. Had to wire it directly to the battery which means the voltmeter stays on 24/7 but its LED readout is low voltage and does not draw much power to maintain. All in all great addition to the Golf Cart.
