The film adaptation of the popular ABC TV series from 1966-68 has it all, action, adventure, romance, danger and comedy. Adam West and Burt Ward were excellent in the roles of Batman and Robin. Lee Meriwether(who replaces Julie Newmar due to a prior commitment)was at her sexiest as the Catwoman, and Frank Gorshin, Burgess Meridith and Cesar Romero were hilariously enjoyable as the villains. The special features contains a featurette with Adam and Burt talking about the behind the scenes stories, also there is a tour of the Batmobile with its creator, George Barris. This movie is a treat for kids as well as adults, it may not be the TV series we hope for, but it is close enough!

This DVD was a great surprise. The extra features including trailers, commercials and the behind the scenes stuff were fantastic! One of my favorite extras is the info on the design and building of the original Batmobile. Very cool! With the designer himself - George Barris. (Who also did The Munster Mobile, Patridge Family Bus and Kitt from Knight Rider.) This movie was made while the series was actually on TV and geared for the summer movies as a filler to keep Batman hot for the next season. It worked. This is a fun movie. All the original villians are there! Cat Woman, the Joker, Penguim and The Ridler. All astonishingly played by the actors who made over-the-top acting a household delight! (Especially Cesar Romero and Frank Gorshin.) Of course, Adam West and Burt Ward were at their best! The story is simple but the Bat props and effects are great! I loved it and had a lot of fun watching it on the DVD. It was meant as a series of pure relief and entertainment and every actor in Hollywood at the time wanted to be a guest villian on this show - and they were! KA-POW!

While this is pretty much a bare-bones DVD release, for me it is an entertaining guilty pleasure. When this first was released in the theatres in 1966, I was a 5 year old Batman obsessed kid. I remember my wonderful twin great aunts taking me to the movies to see this cheese-fest. While its no technical marvel, it is a very fun addition to the 60s TV show era of the Batman legacy. And for just a few dollars, its well worth re-living the the memories associated with it.

No one can beat Adam West or Burt Ward for their ability to hold their tongues firmly in cheek. These guys are fabulous! This kind of sarcasm is really a lost art, and the scene where some days its just impossible to get rid of a bomb! is just about the funniest thing I have ever seen! Watch Adam West as he is frantically running around holding a cartoon bomb over his head-his physical comedy is amazing. I am sorry he never received the recognition he deserved, or another series in which he could shine.

The grandkids watch this again and again at my house. At first, they say “This, again?” And then, they color and play and watch their favorite parts and can even report to me what’s going to happen next sometimes. Good clean fun.

The 4 villains in this movie made it so funny. They had one goal and couldnt stop Batman and Robin. Well usually the good guys are successful. It is a fun and neat movie to watch.

I remember watching the reruns of the show back in the 80s. Loved it. Then I watched then again in the 90s. Funny thing is I had never really seen this movie. Id seen clips of it but never in its entirety. Movie is great, still holds its humor and adventure after all this time. Definitely a movie for a simpler, less technology rich time. Nostalgia probably has a lot to do with it honestly, but I still highly recommend it.
