Ridiculous? Yes Dumb villains trying to get caught? Yes Too many labels? No A good movie to relax to with the wife and kids? Definitely! Silly and unrealistic, this movie is a good time if you can let go of reality and live in a dream world where good and evil is black and white. Plus, Ceasar Romero (The Joker) didnt even shave his mustache. They just put the white make up over it. From the shark repellent at the beginning to the Dynamic Duo climbing walls with celebrity cameos this movie is F - U - N!

If you grew up in the 60s like I did, then you likely tuned in to the Batman TV series twice a week. In my estimation Adam West and Burt Ward portrayed the only Batman and Robin that matters. The series was chocked full of arch enemies, camp, humor, wit, vivid color, killer fight scenes w/words such as... POW, WHAM, ZOW, BAM... seemingly coming at you thru your TV screen, a wonderful Batcave set with all the bells and whistles including, but not limited to the Giant Lucite Map of Gotham City. And the series featured, of course, the only Batmobile that matters. If you loved the series... then Batman: The Movie is no disapointment. It has all the same wonderful qualities as the series... the only difference... it runs 105 minutes... and is seen in 1.85:1 widescreen. Now it comes at you on DVD in Brilliant Blue Ray which brings out those vivid colors even more. Ive never seen the Batmobile, so sharp, the Batcave so crisp and clear. An entirely NEW viewing experience for a 46-year-old film. And the extras on the Blue Ray version are BATastic! You will get a close-up interactive tour of the Batmobile from nearly every angle. Its almost as if youre opening the door to the real Batmobile and sitting inside. There are several other extra features as well. I love everything Batman... including the newer darker Batman films, but I do not compare them to the TV series or the film from 1966. Its kinda like comparing apples to oranges. But because they played a huge part of my childhood... Adam, and Burts Batman and Robin are my favorites... and Batman: the Movie (1966) is the only BATMAN Movie that matters.

I grew up on Adam wests Batman and still love him best❣️This movie is amazing and cheesier than a bowl of Mac n cheese! I personally love the camp factor of the 60s Batman and feel privileged to have met Adam west at a book signing. If you dont have time for the series, this movie will give you a hefty helping of it.

Hilarious movie- especially if you prefer Frank Millers harsher version of the character- but its the commentary tracks that really make it enjoyable even if youve already seen the movie. Recommended if you grew up on it- or want to mock it to no end. Either way this movie is gold.

My young teen boys get a kick out of these. One of the best values around if you’re into the classic Batman tv series. Lots of episodes! Good quality picture. Fun blast from the past.

Well since the same reviews show up for this and the HOLY special edition BATMAN of which I own 2 studio release copies, I wonder if this new Batman - The Movie (Special Edition) (1966) has anything different or just the studios way of getting more money for the same thing repackaged? Where is the series? Why are people able to transfer poor copies from the Action Network to dvd and sell when the studio has the masters? I know; let the buyer beware, but if fox doesnt get off the pot soon I may have to dig out my old vhs cassettes and transfer them myself, I am sure I could do a better job than what is out there, just need to find the time. back to the review- Does anyone actually have the new dvd? the one I have is 1.85:1 has audio commentary by adam and burt, has a tour of the batmobile, an all new featurette, still gallery, theatrical trailer & teaser, and the second copy I bought when best buy was dumping them for 6 bucks, a steal in my eyes. Anyway I will check back a day or two before they go on sale and if there is any info concerning something I dont already have I may have to buy it, if however it is just a way to get more money for the same ole thing... Now to echo my fellow collectors and batman connoisseurs- RELEASE THE 66-68 SERIES(save me the time)
