Too bad zero stars is not an option. I tried this product a couple of years ago with success. It doesnt like routers with both 2.4 and 5 Ghz connections (i.e. any router in the last decade). It also doesnt like any wifi system with more that 15 connections (i.e. not a smart home). And dont even think about a mesh system. The support is also iffy. They are supposed to be working on a LoRA system. While I would like such a device, I will let someone else take the first one. Im taking to you, Paul Hibbert!

This product was exactly what I was looking for. I have a bunch of IR devices including a TV and a Hi Fi sound system. Moreover, the house is full of RF switches and outlets I needed to control in a centralized way. I was able to automate much of my house using this device and now Im able to voice-control those devices. Setting up was quick and easy and the ability of recording either IR or RF signals is amazing.

Update: After a few emails back and for with Broadlink, they were able to fix the problem on their end. Not perfect, but good service. The device stopped pairing with Google Home after a month. None of the suggested fixes (on BroadLinks website) corrected the problem. It still works as a stand-alone app and with Siri.

It works great and learns RF remotes super easily. Highly recommend.

    Greater than one week

Update: now that I’ve had for about a week, here’s my update. Lost a star, because broadlink hub has to be directly in front of the receiver for it to work and looks ridiculous; needs IR blasters. Response time to turn volume up and down is terrible. 2 stars because I can control with Alexa. Honestly, $50 more and get the Harmony hub and place anywhere around the receiver. Even if Harmony can’t reach receiver, I can use IR blaster. I did program to use fireplace remote, but again the broadlink hub has to be directly in front of the fireplace. I got the broadlink so I can use IR and RF, but so far I can’t get get any RF to work. Was able to connect my Denon receiver without any problems using IR. Did relearn some of the buttons on the BroadLink app to match my remote. Will not connect to my RF remote ceiling fan. Doesn’t help that I don’t know what the RF is to my remote. I’ve searched everywhere I can think of.

Got my Broadlink pro some days ago, the installation process was very easy, I have included all RF/IR devices in my house. The integration with Alexa is very nice too, you can create specific scenes then include these into Akexas routines. Being able to integrate non-smart devices along with smart devices, and create scenes/ambients with these is magic! Very recommend product.

The app literally wont let me input my Wi-Fi password because it doesnt let me input enough characters.

Works like a charm. iOS app is reasonably easy to use. Added 3 blinds and set up Alexa routines in 10min. I did rename the On to Open since I am using it for motorized Roth + Allen blinds (with an RF remote... each blind has a built in RF number/frequency). The key in Alexa is to use Routines and a variety of Voice prompts. Alexa even recognized them as Shades! Example for raising all shades: Open Shades, Shades Up, Open the Shades (for my wife, she likes a variety of prompts). Add all 3 to one Routine so they all open at once (or close or stop). A single shade has a default of something like Alexa, Open the right shade (I have Left, Middle and Right but you could number them). You could use routines for other up/open/lift/raise/etc prompts. Much cheaper than the bridge that a big box store was selling.

This works great. Controls my roller shade, mini split a/c unit, TV, and surround sound zvox. And it works with Alexa. At night I tell Alexa to turn the family room off and the shade goes down and all other items turn off It’s easy to set up and it works great. The only thing is I wish they would add a usb power module and come in white.

Doesn’t work with google home! DO NOT BUY. 2023 review w shades. Connects but NO CONTROLS . As title says. I can add the Allen roth shades in the app and it works fine IN THE APP. Soon as I link it to google google home shows ZERO controls. Just says it’s connected. Piece of crap junk.
