We set up the Christmas lights for our entire house with Etekcity RF-type remote controls and I didnt want to have to buy 16 WiFi Smartplugs to get them to work by voice command. This device, after a quick, easy setup connected to all the remotes and I can now control all of them with Alexa. I also got it to activate my remote fireplace. This was one of the best technology purchases Ive ever made!

Really useful for controlling non-smart devices. I use it for my soundbar, TV, HDMI switch, etc. The RF control is also a huge plus; I have a plug controlled by an RF remote, and within a couple minutes, I could control it with my phone, effectively making it a smart plug. I was also surprised how well it worked at different angles; it still managed to control my TV despite being on the opposite side of the IR sensor and being partially blocked by the soundbar. Had to take off a star for the app forcing you to use an account, even just getting the device to connect to WiFi for local control. I use Home Assistant to control this, and according to the guide for the HA Broadlink integration, you have to quit the app when it asks you to assign it to a room, as doing so will disable local control. This is very counter-intuitive for people who just want to use the device locally. Although I didnt have an issue connecting this to a dual-band router as others have, it is a bit odd that Broadlink chose not to support 5GHz, since the standard has been around for over a decade. However, for those that are having trouble, here are a couple tips: - You can probably disable 5GHz on your router temporarily. On many brands, you can do this by changing WiFi mode from 802.11b/g/n/ac to 802.11b/g (or b/g/n) or something similar. - As long as your network also supports 2.4GHz, you can always go old-tech and just move out of range of the 5GHz signal.

This product was exactly what I was looking for. I have a bunch of IR devices including a TV and a Hi Fi sound system. Moreover, the house is full of RF switches and outlets I needed to control in a centralized way. I was able to automate much of my house using this device and now Im able to voice-control those devices. Setting up was quick and easy and the ability of recording either IR or RF signals is amazing.

works perfect, i connected it with my alexa and program it to control my tv and sound bar. so i can tell alexa to turn them on, off, change channel, change input one by one but it works just alot of repeating, and change volume. built quality is good. pretty small size over all and has a hanging kit. would recommend, only had for a few month so just got to wait and see how long it will last. also doesnt come with a box to plug the usb cable to, you can probably use an old one from a cell phone or something else.

You can only configure Alexa for pre-programmed functions - not enough flexibility to say operate my fireplace.

This doesnt work, wish I would have returned it immediately, now its too late after trying to get support on the product and all they said was try setting it up again. It basically works when you set it up, then its like it goes to sleep by the next morning and it wont wake up until you try it several times if you are lucky. Bought a Bond bridge and it works EVERY time. Also works with my ceiling fan and Broadlink NEVER worked with my ceiling fan. Save yourselves time and just go for the Bond bridge. Bonds support is far better as well and responds same day.

Product has worked for majority of what I wanted it for. It says doesn’t work 5GHz and mesh wifi but I have the google nest mesh, the router and 1 access point. BroadLink pro recognizes my network and connected to it no problem. In google app I do see it is connected to 2.4GHz. I had a feeling it would work fine because other smart devices say the same but connected fine. I didn’t have to do anything special with my router or phone to make sure it connected to 2.4GHz. As for the remote part. It recognizes a roku tv I have on my wifi network automatically and is in app without programming it and has all the functions the roku app remote offers. As for other things like a space heater by twin star it doesn’t have as a model but I’m able to program each button press and assign it to a button but button names aren’t accurate and u can’t rename a button which I think is a big miss seeing how if they let u add remotes not in their database that they prob aren’t gonna have the same name buttons. I have a shark air purifier which is a big name brand and shark was not listed in their database and had to manually assign buttons to their generic app remote and didn’t have proper name buttons to match and once again a renaming button feature should be available. The range for the remote to work isn’t that great but maybe it’s cause the remote is one that has to be aimed at the appliance. I did unplug it for a day or so and nothing was saved except my wifi name and was able to auto put in password for it. I’m using iPhone 13 pro max

The app literally wont let me input my Wi-Fi password because it doesnt let me input enough characters.
