> 3 dayLatest IOS App on iPhone 11 w/latest firmware would not get past first step in adding device. Kept saying connect to your homes Wi-Fi. I was connected to a 2.4Ghz SSID w/no complementary 5Ghz SSID. Called there 5x24hr support line to no avail. They never answer, it goes to some Spanish voicemail. All the videos online like like they are using a much older version of the broad link app.. I also dislike that I have to give the app permissions for geo location on top of bluetooth which both seem unnecessary. I get the vibe that this thing is just a cheap data mining utility for some Chinese company. Doesnt have a mature product feel. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend putting this on a segmented guest network. It only needs to communicate outbound unless you intend to use the Roku feature. I was excited there seems to be decent support for some advanced things like home-bridge etc.. but those are all worthless if the device wont even connect to the network. Im in the process of returning and going with a bond fan bridge. Unfortunately it costs 3x as much but at least I KNOW that works.

> 3 dayThere a lot of things that Alexa or Google can do but adding this device extends their ability to control the IR (TV remotes etc) and the RF (radio frequency devices) that you have had in your home for years. It allows you to control these devices via voice and does so reliability and easily. I have been more than impressed by this device. As a note for RF, make the unit you are buying supports both 315MHz & 433MHz.

> 3 dayI ended up adding the Sewell IR Blaster (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074CNWJZV/) so I can control everything. ibroadlink.com/support - FYI your downloads dont work. Roku 4K streaming stick no codes, and cant learn - sent email. Optoma GT1090HR no codes, manually learned - screen uses RF different vendor unable learn codes - sent email. Unable to add additional buttons after setting up a universal Remote for device - sent email. Looking forward to hearing back. Hopefully once all codes are done the scenesmacros work. Also, very difficult to add the RM4 Pro device - it took about 20x attempts. It would have been nice to simply scan a QR and add the device vs. the manual setup that was required.

> 3 dayThis device is awesome. I wanted to integrate an entertainment system with Alexa. This device bridges that gap. It operates everything I need. Xbox, TV, Amplifier, everything turns on, scrolls through menus, adjusts settings. I am pleased and can recommend this. It does take a little effort to learn and setup, but once its set, its a solid smart home improvement.

> 3 dayIt works perfectly for an IR Blaster that is connected to Home Assistant. My recommendation is to not have it connected to the internet.

> 3 dayIf you have a mesh router (as every mid-size home should), it will not work unless you can put yourself on a 2.4ghz WiFi! This device needs to get into the 21st century. Dont waste your time. I bought this because it got good reviews. Well, I guess those people had simple old school (pre-Y2K) tech. I am trying to replace Harmony because it no longer works with Alexa (G&^%# M%#@$ F^&*%ers).

> 3 dayToo bad zero stars is not an option. I tried this product a couple of years ago with success. It doesnt like routers with both 2.4 and 5 Ghz connections (i.e. any router in the last decade). It also doesnt like any wifi system with more that 15 connections (i.e. not a smart home). And dont even think about a mesh system. The support is also iffy. They are supposed to be working on a LoRA system. While I would like such a device, I will let someone else take the first one. Im taking to you, Paul Hibbert!

> 3 dayAs stated, it does not do bluetooth. Unfortunately, the newer Optimum/Alice One set top boxes only support bluetooth so it cant be used to fully integrate a system that includes Alice One. Otherwise it seems to be easy to setup and the price is good. It needs to be able to support bluetooth though as more and more devices are going that way.

> 3 dayI bought this specifically to use as a smart remote to control one item in my house with my Google Mini. Never did I thought that I would be able to control my entire home movie theater with this Broadlink. Very small and compact to start with so it is easy to tuck it away somewhere in your home to keep it out of sight. The app is for the most part user friendly but you do need to have some knowledge on how to program universal remotes to get the full potential. I love how you can build scenes on the app and Google Home recognizes the scenes and you can trigger them with a simple voice command once you program the Broadlink scene(s) into your Google home. The one con that I am finding is that being that it is IR technology, you would want to place it where the components that you want to control like you would with a regular remote controller in a place where it has almost a clear line of site to the said components. Aside from that, it is a great IR Blaster and having the RF technology onboard is an added bonus.
