At this price, a responsible radio user should have a few charged spares available for each of their radios, for any contingency/operation/emergency.

I Use the equipment for my radios (uv-5x3 , Bf-f8hp & ft-60) as of right now I have trying for three days to get support from Chirp. Support is needed to make the cable of use. A 2 on value, money and life. The cables work on an old computer so they are OK. I need support from Chirp.

This battery is great. Lightweight and adds a bit more grip to the unit. Good battery life, probably double the standard battery if I had to guess. There has never been a product more worth the money! However- if you have the fancier UV5RA radio instead of the UV5R it wont fit. The RA is overmolded and a little thicker in parts to make it better and fancier than the Jones radio and that bites it in the ass in this application. The UV5RA is a no go for this battery.

Meets my expectations, Im pleased with it.

The battery pack wouldnt click into place, and the radio wouldnt power on. I had to cut some plastic from the front of the pack to get it to fit.

The product arrived very well packaged, charged the battery and it has been powering my UV-5R just fine. In fact I ran the radio for about 6 hours and no issues at all, plenty of charge left. Will be buying another in the near future.

Well built battery, allows easier handling of radio with extended grip. Battery virtually lasts for days when going out for weekend ventures. Great battery to have in your B.O.B / radio kit.

Got this unit plus a couple of extra batteries and a better antenna for my initial foray into the world of amateur radio. Setup was easy using CHIRP software - got 127 channels programmed right outta the gate. Am still learning and discovering all the features of this radio as I study for my HAM license, but initial impression is positive. Follow up email from the folks at BaoFeng is reassuring. Buy with confidence.
