Me
Greater than one weekI have this as the upgrade over the stock battery for the BF-F8HP. The stock only lasted me a couple hours, while this battery has lasted me for two days of continued use. Would highly recommend getting a charger, as the external charging while using is a great boon

> 3 dayAfter reading a lot of reviews we decided to go with this one it seems this one doesnt get quite as hot as a lot of the other ones on the market but we dont know yet so hopefully this will work for us We did buy an adapter on Amazon that would plug into the wall which had a problem causing us to mistakenly not know if the battery illuminators were working correctly , We solved that were buying another adapter Works with baofeng 2015 model radio sold here on Amazon 1. Weve used it for several hours on standby and so far it has no heat whatsoever is cold to the touch We will try listening to a weather station and update you later ? 2. We have transmitted with it very little so far doesnt get hot at all Cold to the touch . If anything changes will update

> 3 dayWith so many fakes out there, it’s nice to have a reliable source of true extra capacity batteries for the UV5R. This one is the real deal. My biggest complaints are the price, it costs almost as much as the radio itself. And, it’s only available in black. All of my UV5R radios are camo. But there are no legit 3800 mAh batteries available in camo. So now I have 3 camo UV5R radios with black extended capacity batteries. But I’m so happy to finally have the extra battery capacity that I no longer care about the color mismatch.

> 3 dayI purchased this strictly as a backup for any scenario where charging the Baofeng batteries was not possible but utilizing the extremely common AA battery was. It works exactly as advertised. It holds 6 AA batteries and comes with 1 dummy battery. If you’re using a 5W radio (UV-5R, UV-5X3, etc) then you’ll place 5 AA batteries and the 1 dummy battery into this adapter and then mount it to the radio. If you’re using a radio with a slightly higher output like the BF-F8HP (what I use for all of mine) then you’ll want to fill all 6 spots with actual AA’s, not using the dummy battery at all. Hope that makes sense! Also, an important thing to note is that the first few times I installed this onto my radio, it required a good amount of force to push until it clicked into place, unlike my other batteries that click into place with gentle pressure. After about 5 times of installing this battery, it became way easier and now clicks on just as easily as the other batteries. So for anyone that gets this and runs into it not locking in easily right off the bat, don’t freak out and all that, you’ll be just fine. I will be ordering more of these down the road for redundancy sake.

> 3 dayThis battery did not come with a charging cable. I assumed it would but it did not. It can be charged from the charging cradle that came with the ht radio. However, other extended life batteries like this one come with thier own charging cables.

> 3 dayWith this carrier you can use Rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride, and Nickel Cadmium cells in your UV5R series radio including the BF-F8HP. With the dummy cell (Yes, it is included) you can also use 1.5V lithium, Alkaline, or even Zinc Carbon cells. You will not be able to use Nickel Zinc as the voltage is still too high with the dummy. There is a short circuit hazard with the middle column of cells. This hazard is easy to avoid, simply make sure that you install the center column of cells first. With this in mind, if you do bend the contact to the point that it briefly makes contact with the one it isnt supposed to, you have no short circuit to complete.

> 3 dayThis is a good option to have around when you don’t have access to power to charge the battery that came with the radio. You can use alkaline batteries or ni-cd/nimh rechargeable. Just make sure that you use the dummy battery when using alkaline. This should be on a sticker that you apply to the pack to always remember

> 3 dayEven though this accessory could be a bit more substantive, (feels cheap and took some modification to the detent to snap into radio), other aspects work as advertised. It shows a max of 7.8W going into the radio (BF F8HP) when holding down the SQL button to check wattage, but the full charge on a battery pack is 8.4. Contacted BTech about this and they said this is normal. It is what it is and is a good accessory to have to save your batteries. Great to have and it really saves on your batteries! I now have two of them for the power supply I have in my house and it works fine. BaoFeng Tech personnel have ALWAYS BEEN HELPFUL AND WILL REPLACE DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS AND WITH NO HASSLE. They replaced a defective battery eliminator upon request and after going through the RMA process. A reputable company is important when buying electronics mail order... I recommend buying ONLY from BaoFeng Techwhen buying any BaoFeng radio equipment.
