The STM motors really help in getting the focus even on a moving subject... definitely better and faster than the IS versions. Moreover, you dont have the irritating motors on the front that keeps rotating to focus on the IS versions. Overall its a go to product, without any second thoughts. At this price range, canon has nailed it.

It takes really good pictures and takes good pictures far away for the price it works just fine

I bought this lens to take on a 3 week trip to Washington, Oregon, Canada, and Alaska and I did not want to use my L series lensed in case I were to lose/break it. I read the review and took a chance. I am glad that I did and with my Canon 7D it worked really well. It is worth the money. Photo taken at 250mm

This lens works just fine. Note, though, that I am no more than an interested and motivated amateur. My standards are not to a professional level.

Takes great photos and the focousong system is super quiet. Very light weight too. I use it with my Canon rebel T5 and it works great. Didnt come with a warranty tho but still works good

I just purchased this lens, so havent used it too many times yet. Im not a pro photographer just a beginner. Like this lens a lot, takes beautiful pics and the zoom of course is a bit of an improvement over my kit lens. I was able to get this lens for $274 brand new, so I think that was a great value for this product. No complains yet.
