> 3 dayIve had this for a bit over four months ands use it infrequently. I had expected it to dry up between uses - it doesnt. It prints every time and prints well. If it were lost, Id buy another. Less than five stars because it is slow.

08-04-2025LIKED THE PRINTER at first, BUT HORRIBLE DEAL. . . The Printer controls your ink use through MICRO CHIPS! For example, it tells you when you need ink, so you are a slave to it. I only print BLACK & WHITE, but the color gets used up! How is this possible?? AND WORST OF ALL, you must replace this (UNUSED) Color Cartridge BEFORE you can print again!! UGH. I hate this so much. Everything was going so well. . . DO NOT BUY unless you are made of money and enjoy going to STAPLES all the time for refills!!!

> 3 dayThe Canon Pixma IP2600 / 2600 is a P.O.S. It prints super light, as if the color in was watered down. You get what you pay for. Pay $25 more and get the 4600 and youll be satisfied, but research the ink costs in advance. Also look at generic ink distributors.

> 3 dayBought the printer at walmart, am on my second black cartridge. Turned the printer on to do some printing and got seven flashes on the amber light. Looked in the manual and read that the cartridge was not properly installed. So far, I reinstalled it about fifty times, to no avail. I still get the same message, can anybody offer any help ?

> 3 dayThe IP2600 is a good printer for the money. Black and color printing is fast and quiet. I previously had the more expensive i850. This printer seems to burn through ink about twice as fast.

Greater than one weekWhile went to buy the Ink for my HP Photosmart printer, I noticed this printer from Canon for just $30 and bought this one without any second thought ($30 is way cheaper than the HP inks). Installation went without an issue on my Vista PC, and I am not finding printing speed an issue. So far so good. I prefer to stay with Canon than HP for following reasons. 1) HP uses color ink even when choosing black printing. Though I print black and white prints, but HP makes me to buy color inks more often than b&w 2) HP expires the ink after some period. HP wants to generate constant money flow, but IMO this is not a way to do. Thanks Suriya.

> 3 dayThe detail is great, even with printing xrays. However, if you print photos a lot, realize that you will need to purchase another within 12-15 months. There is a part called an ink collector which gathers dried ink from cleaning the printer heads after every print (This is what makes such awesome photos.). Laypeople cannot dump it; only an authorized Cannon Maintenance Individual can get into this sucker and dump it. If you are a corporation on a regular route with a Cannon maintenance person, then youll probably be OK. We are a small office and cant afford to have a Cannon Rep on retainer. A one-time maintenance visit to dump out the ink collector costs 150.00. Since the printer is 140.00, I call this a disposable printer.

> 3 dayNeeded a decent printer after TWO Lexmark Wally World cheapies refused to work after a while. I just wanted to print out my tax returns and stuff. The Canon was easy to use and setup. Just hope the ink cartridges dont dry up. I keep them in a glassine (dope) sealed bag, with a wet piece of paper. Hope this works. OK printer so far....
