> 3 dayThe new printer straight out of the box showed a jam signal. The Canon service technician on the phone could not help us. We are suppose to find a Canon service dealer and have them repair it.

Greater than one weekFor the life of me, I cannot believe that Canon did not include a printer tray on this printer. This means that whenever you print from this, it doesnt have a nice sheet coming out from it like the picture but spits out your documents all over the ground. Furthermore, the cartridges are tiny. These small little cartridges hold such little ink and constantly need to be replaced and always seem to be drying out and need to be cleaned using the software included with the printer. The catch? Cleaning uses up ink. I am a college student that prints documents and no color, but apparently I cleaned the cartridges enoguh that the color cartridge became empty and it stopped printing until I replaced it. I have always felt that printer companies are like drug dealers, they try to hook you with a cheap printer and then hit you with the expensive cartridges later. This is really just about as bad as it gets with an inkjet printer. I know its a bargain-basement deal, but Canon really cuts corners on this thing way too much. Stay away if you want to protect your sanity. I am writing this at 3am in the morning because my printer, which has two recently replaced cartridges, wont print properly and my documents are all splotched.

> 3 dayI actually bought this printer at Wal-Mart, before looking at any of these reviews. When I got home I checked them out. They seem to be totally mixed, and its hard to tell if the darn thing is any good or not. I started thinking, What kind of a piece of **** have I got here? Im glad to see I was very wrong. Its light years faster than my old HP 5550, and works like a charm. The first time I printed something I though it was just spitting a blank test page through first. Much to my surprise there was actually something printed on it. My old hp used to take a good 90 seconds to chug a page through, and I can see that this printer and I will be great friends. I havent really had a chance to test it with photo, but its not something I do much of anyway. (Insert blatant promotion of costco here, who charges 12 cents a print online and mails them back to me for free) The whole machine cost less than a new color cartridge for my HP, which was why we were at the Wal-mart in the first place. To anyone who isnt looking for a lot of bells and whistles, this is definitely the way to go. Its a boring black printer that does its job perfectly.

> 3 dayI bought this printer recently, and every time I print anything it feels like Im chugging a mountain dew while snowboarding down the Rockies on a snowboard thats actually a lightning bolt, and its as if someone transplanted the Rockies into some extreme combination of Disneyland and the worlds largest half-pipe, with girls in bikinis cheering me on at all sides, and theyre all just shouting my name and telling me how great I am for picking such an awesome thing to print and we all cant stop drinking mountain dew but theres an endless supply so its okay.

Greater than one weekFor the price, its worth it. Pros: - Decent quality. - Price: I bought mine from Wal-mart for $29.95. Cons: - NO paper tray. Which means that once it is done printing each page, that page will fall to the floor. - Ink. I spend $35 per set (1 color, 1 black cartridge). They dont last long. I had a 250 page report to print out (no color, all black and white text) I put in brand new cartridges before and did not get through the entire thing. So it took me 2 of each to do 250 pages. I know other brands like HP you can get more out of for less money. Do the research before you buy. Look at the cost of the printer AND the cost of the ink. If the manufacturer does not tell you how many pages each cartridge will print; keep looking.

> 3 dayI purchased this printer and it stopped working after three months. Great timing since my warranty expired after a month or so. I took it to a repair shop and found it could not even be fixed because the AC adapter unit inside was faulty. I ended up throwing away a $50 printer, time, and money. Amazon was no help due to the warranty expiration. Research more carefully and youll be happier.

> 3 dayGood Product for the Price, but if you plan on printing allot, you may want to consider a higher end printer.

> 3 dayI bought this printer in 2009 before college, and boy did I love it! I still do love it, and I plan to take it with me to grad school. I am sure in the past 5 years of use, this printer did stutter and jam several times... but for the most part, my impression of my printer is a positive one. I got this for less than $100, so I think I got this for a bargain. I guess the price went up. This printer is not the fastest, but it got the job done. You have to manually manipulate the papers and printing settings to get double-sided printing (which I made mistakes with several times). The printing quality was very much sufficient for essays and lecture notes with images. I am too cheap to use expensive ink to print photos with this, but I am sure people liked it for its intended purpose. It is loud when it prints, so if you live in a 3-person, tiny dorm room like I did freshman year, late-night printing would be a bit rude. Love this printer, and i hope I can keep using it!
