This tape isnt very sticky, not sure if thats how its supposed to be? It is very thick and durable though, you have to use scissors to cut it.

I love this stuff, and use it all the time. Ive ordered it twice. (I got the bright green color this time to make it easier to find in my toolbox. Or tool bag. Or tool pile.) I never buy duct tape. Gaffer tape sticks better, tears off the roll cleanly, remains flexible, and comes off when you want without leaving a residue. As a photographer, Ive been aware of the difference between gaffer tape and duct tape for a long time, but true gaffer tape is hard to find. Im glad I found it here on Amazon. ------- Editing to add: Just bought my third roll. There are so many uses for this tape. In addition to holding things in place for still life photography (including taping my muslin backdrop to the wall) I use it for my home improvement projects. Im remodeling my bathroom, and I used this to protect the threshold of my new shower pan and a PVC window sill. They would otherwise have gotten scuffed while working in the room. It holds firmly but comes off without tearing apart or leaving reside. I attached some trim with adhesive, and used this to hold it in place, knowing it would come off cleanly once the adhesive was dry. I like the bright green color because its easy to find when mixed up with other tools and parts. It also works well to write on for labeling parts or wires. I know this is a lot of words for just tape but it really is good stuff.

Im using white to run black Klipsch speaker cables-powering a 7.2 Atmos setup-along walls and under doorways. One section is approx 30 ft long and vertically holds the two stiff in-wall rated rear surround cables flush where the walls and baseboards meet. Nobody notices. Ive had it up for one or two months and still no trace of peeling, fading, etc. The tape is still as white as the walls and the material really helps to blend it in. For my use, it has far exceeded my expectations. Hope this helps someone.

Many years ago now (geez its been a while) I worked in commercial video production as a production assistant. It was then that I learned what gaffer tape was and it changed my life (thats hyperbolic but not totally untrue). Gaffer tape, in general, has numerous applications: pretty much anywhere that you need good, strong, adhesion while still being removable and without leaving behind any adhesive residue. Gaffer tape is cloth-like in texture and composition so it has more in common with duct tape in that regard but its more flexible and easier to remove like masking tape but without being brittle and easy to rip. There were tons of gaffer tape options on Amazon but this one was exceptionally well-reviewed and priced reasonably. Usually, a low price on Amazon means that the product youre getting is less than it can or should be. Not so here. Ive been using this tape to conceal cables in a new apartment. The white color of the tape blends in perfectly with the white paint on my walls and I dont have to spend a bunch of time stapling or using nail-down cable clips in my trim. This keeps my cats from getting at the cables and it keeps the cables from sticking out and being unsightly. If I ever need to replace the cables then all I have to do is pull up the tape, lay down the new cable, and put down fresh tape. The best part is that the adhesive stays down from the center to the edges so there arent edges rolling up and collecting dust or otherwise compromising the adhesion.

Im revising my original meh review after using the gaffer tape a few times. The hood on my car would not lock down after checking the oil so I used 2 (two) 6 inch strips of this tape to hold the hood down until I could drive the 20 highway miles to my mechanic, in the rain. And after getting there it peeled off easily and I could have reused it again if I had wanted. The second time was a test. I taped one end of a 2X4 to my workbench using gaffer tape and gorilla brand tape. About 6 feet of the 2X4 extended in to space. After leaving for the night the gaffer taped board was still in place and not even sagging. The gorilla taped board was resting on the ground. Further, the gorilla tape left a glue residue while the gaffer tape peeled off clean. I give it 4 stars because I still think its about twice as expensive as it should be. Good product, does what it says it will do. But there are lots of other tape products out there that are just as good or better, but at half the price. Gaffer tape sounds really cool but the reality is that great tape these days is not that hard to find. For instance, genuine commercial quality duct tape (forget the Duck crap) is easy to find at most big box stores and is half the price but twice the value. This is the stuff that commercial heating guys use to bond metal heating ducts together in the bowels of buildings, lasting for decades. Great technology but commonly available. Do your homework, forget the hype, save some money.

I picked this up to help me mark and find things in the dark. I discovered a long time ago that remote controls, key fobs, all sorts of plastic objects love to disappear in my messy house. Im planning to add more colors of tape to sort-of color code things to find even in low light. Add a UV lamp or flashlight for best effects.

I think this is best for inside use and not for outdoor with cold and wet. I used it to tape up some extension cords to the house for Christmas lights. Color matched our brick well, but most of it failed on the first cold rain. I used other Gaffers tape last year that held up through more sever weather. To its claim, it left no residue when it fell off, or with the few pieces left on that I had to pull off when I took lights down. 3 of 5 stars since I might have been expecting too much from a no residue tape.

The last brand I had felt cheap and didnt adhere quite so well. This brand feels much more ruggedly built and has better adhesion. Id say it was worth the slight extra cost. Ill be ordering this brand from now on.
