> 3 dayInstallation was simple for anyone who has ever changed a wall outlet. the Screw connectors support two wires so a daisy chain connection does not need wire nuts. I did not bother with the suggested app for controlling as I already use Smart Life app and it discovered and set up the outlet perfectly. my only, and I mean only complaint is the bright green LED that lights when the outlet is powered on. its very eye catching in any room, and would be completely disqualifying for use in a bedroom as far as Im concerned. Edit: after adding a couple more of these outlets it turns out it is physically too large for standard old work type boxes or exterior metal boxes. the ground wire lug is on the bottom of the outlet and sticks out too far to fit in box. I removed my old junction box and installed a new larger new work box and it fits, but its additional complexity that will be a deal breaker for many people and doesnt work in all situations.

> 3 dayThis is the second one I bought, as the first one I had to throw away (past return window). The electrical connection screws are sooo soft and broke on the first socket which made the whole thing useless. I didnt over tighten thee screws either, but an electrical connection should at least be snug. The socket itself works fine and has full and independent control of each standard socket and the USB port, which is what i needed. Its just a shame the screws were so cheap. Beware!

> 3 dayTo start, the WiFi set-up went easily, no problems. The physical install was very difficult. The electrical box in my wall was small, and this outlet unit left maybe 1/32th of a inch clearance on top and bottom. The big problem was the ground screw. The device has this mounted on the bottom of the outlet, and even when fully screwed in, it far exceeds the 1/32 clearance with my box. I had to ground to part of the mounting plate when tapping in the mounting screw to the box... not preferred. So, this was major headache, taking 1/2 hour to figure out. Secondly, to connect the hot and neutral wires, you have to insert the wires into holes in the back of the device. The set screws and nuts to fasten the wires are inconsistent, and dont really provide sufficient clearance for the wires. I had to really tork on the screws to loosen them enough to jam the wires in. This really sucked to get to work! Thirdly, the switch plate requires screws smaller than standard. Fortunately the package came with these screws. But, what the heck, why change from the standard? Maybe this is the standard in some other country, but youre selling this in the U.S... come on guys, sell something standard for here. I probably should just have returned the 2-pack devices, but since they WiFi worked, and eventually after nearly an hour, I did get it to work, I wont waste my time with that now. But, I would not buy these again... they need to up their quality and design. This was a very frustrating install, and it should not have been! Again, because the WiFi worked, Ill generously give this a 3 star rating. Also, the plate covers these come with are pretty cheap... hard plastic and possibly brittle type. I wont use them.

Greater than one weekThis was super easy to install, however it took a bit to be able to get it to hook up to the app. I ended up having to use the manual connect feature instead of the easy setup.

> 3 dayI see many reviews that say being able to control both outlets with Google Home. This is not my case and Im wondering if Im doing something wrong. I only see one plug in Google Home. Please see attached screenshots of Geeni and Google Home. Is it the naming? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

> 3 dayThese were contractor recommended. They seemed easy to install (the contractor installed them). I got them to use at my kitchen peninsula so that we can just plug the usb directly to the outlet because who has time to find the cell phone plug? You can connect them directly to your wifi. Im not going to do that because all I needed was something without the wifi, but it was recommended and needed asap for kitchen reno.

Greater than one weekI was not able to get the outlet to connect to the wifi which was about 60 away. Maybe I was too far away, but other wifi items worked just fine at the same location.

> 3 dayIts a great way to lower energy usage while youre on a trip. Pros: - Easy to set up - Easy to use - Responds immediately when you turn off a port via app Cons: - Bad instruction booklet. (Almost thought the device was broken when I plugged something in since nothing in the booklet mentioned you had to hold the wifi button) - USB slow charge - Back port a little bit big, so I had a little difficulty installing.

> 3 dayThe device is great. I gave this 4 stars because the Geeni app needs a little work. UI is clunky and you have to erase automations/configs rather than have the option to edit.

> 3 dayThe outlets have bad hardware. The small screws provided to attach the plate to the chassis are too large for the threaded hole and do not fit (see image). The screw-actuated pressure fittings for inserting the black live wire and the white wire are also difficult to use and in one case I was not able to insert the white wire because the screw would become stuck. Product number: GN-WW116-199. Zebra code: 4470208972. I called their customer service, who politely gave me two options: find the right screws at my hardware store, or send it back to them, but I would have to pay shipment. Worse electrical product I have bought in the past 20 years.
