It’s a great speaker sounds great and $500 is msrp at most retailers but I picked this up for $125 worth the money when you get such good of sound out of one small speaker. I wish it was waterproof of resistant in some way being an expensive speaker. I don’t spend a lot of money on mobile stuff once I heard this I figured I should upgrade my Sony iPod dock that doesn’t even have the lightning port to plug in your phone let alone Bluetooth like this has. And connecting multiple phones is cool too if someone else wants to play something just connect and play then go back to yours easy.

Used to have the first onyx studio so I ordered this one but honestly it wasnt as good as the older version, simply based on it not being as loud I think. I work in a loud environment and cant hear it as well as I was hoping. Its a great speaker tho especially if youve never used one before. I was pretty bothered by the fact that it came with about 5 extra charging adapters that I assume are for different countries (wall plugs). Just incase I needed them I guess but it seems pretty wasteful to me and Im sure its considered in the price of the product. Like I dont want to throw away these 5 charger adapters and I have no use for them so Ill probably donate them to a local thirft shop. If you can find the first onyx Id buy that one for higher volume (I think, not a fact tho)

I reviewed all speakers $400 & under. I purchased Hyperboom until I heard it in person. If you’re going to get 1 of these, you need to get 2. Stereo is SO much better! - & the bass is better. I have 2 paired in stereo & I give 5 stars; what would I say otherwise? If I had to do over again, the only thing I’d change is my weighting on Bluetooth vs wired. For a true audiophile Bluetooth technology isn’t there yet. (Clicking when a source changes - it’s Bluetooth, not the speaker) I also reviewed the Sonos Move (loved it, but you’ll need 2 or more & for the price?) If I had to do over, I’d consider Harmon Kardons wired speakers & buy 2. (Sound sticks 3.0 with subwoofer & buy 2 for stereo - review says it’s 20% louder w/o distortion) However, I’m very happy with these. You NEED 2! *I had 1 once & 2 is SO much better!!

This is the best (semi) portable wireless speaker Ive found for the price. It sounds great, looks beautiful, and reliably plays nice with multiple devices at once. It remains superior to the newer Onyx Studio 5, which is $50 more and has reduced audio performance. If you are looking for a single speaker (notably with stereo) setup, I would recommend looking no further than this one for now (Winter 2018). This model does have two downsides: First, the battery life is not quite as good as promised (about 6 hours when used for movies and music at an outdoor house party). Second, the dual/multi unit mode is a bit limited and clunky to setup. It is also clunky to maintain (reestablish) in a highly mobile environment. However, until HC or a competitor come out with something better, I dont expect youll find a more cost effective and well performing uit in the sub $500 range.

Tengo conectados 2 y funcionan excelente...lástima la duración de la batería, me ha durado máximo 4 horas con todo el volumen, aunque el tiende a bajarle la intensidad del subwoofer cuando está con batería.

Amazing sound. Too bad it only lasted for around 15 uses. After using it around 15 times over an 18 month period it developed static that I have not been able to resolve. It had a 5 star sound....but the lack of longevity due to questionable build quality results in my 1 star rating.

Everything about this product is great except when I use the 3.5mm input, (from my pc for example) it takes about half a second for the sound to come through. There is no delay but it’s like the speaker needs to turn on again. This would be no issue if you just used it for music continuously playing, but for music creation, or similar and you need to pause for a bit then replay, you’ll need to wait that little delay and then replay it. ^ (This is not an issue with Bluetooth, ONLY thru the 3.5mm input) Other than this issue the sound quality is exceptional and I would really recommend.

Crafted to be the best sounding, full featured, portable Bluetooth speaker in its class, The Onyx studio 4 offers two device connections, 8 hours of playtime and Harman Kardon connect+, which allows you to connect 100+ speakers with the same feature with the touch of a button. Rounding out the Onyx studio 4 offerings is a built-in microphone with voice logic, echo and noise cancellation for crystal-clear conferencing over the speaker.
