I am new to Roomba but I am forever a fan. It has made my household chores a breeze. I love that it is able to sweep and vacuum under my bed. I love the scheduling feature and it’s capabilities to connect to my Echo. It is by far one of my best purchases.

PROS: - The Roomba does a great job cleaning vinyl floor and carpet alike. I was amazed at how much dust / cat hair / cat litter particles / specks of random oddities that the Roomba is able to clean. It really does an excellent job cleaning what it passes over! - Scheduling the Roomba to vacuum when my wife and myself are at work. Its great to come home to a nicely vacuumed apartment. - This is a budget item and is pretty affordable when compared to some of the other robot vacuums out there. - Alexa smart home integration. CONS: - Its a bit of a noisy bugger. Youll want to have it vacuum while youre out of the house, which you can schedule easily, however, so no big deal honestly. - The Roomba is not very intelligent, for a lack of better words. It can focus on a small area if theres a large amount to clean up there, but it cant distinguish which rooms or areas are typically the most dirty, like your kitchen. Some other more expensive Roombas are capable of doing this. - Being that you cannot program the Roomba to intelligently learn about your house, it will attempt to enter areas that it will inevitably get stuck at, every time. You will need to Roomba proof your house. For me, that means closing the door to a certain room in my house if I really want the Roomba to get a deep cleaning, otherwise it will get stuck in that room while Im gone, and stop its job early. - The Roomba cant really find its way home, very often. After a long job, Ill often find the Roomba died somewhere in my house and Ill have to bring it back to its home base to recharge. OVERALL: Honestly, these cons are very minimal in the grand scheme of things. The Roomba really does an excellent job of cleaning my house, and after Roomba proofing it , Im able to get more successful jobs that clean more and more. I absolutely recommend this if youre looking for a way to automate cleaning your home. If you want a sophisticated Roomba, you might want to splurge for a more advanced model. As it stands however, this is still a great purchase and Id absolutely buy another robot vacuum from iRobot when this one inevitably one day dies. I cant imagine not having a robot vacuum in my home now with how incredibly helpful this one is. Buy it!

I had been hesitant about buying a Roomba, but at the same time knew a robot vacuum was going to be the best thing for me. I have two dogs and they both shed. In order for me to stay in front of the fur, I needed to be vacuuming every single day, and although I live in a small apartment that just isnt always feasible. I have been using the Roomba for two weeks now, and I am honestly surprised by just how much I love it. I run it every single day, which does mean I have to keep my apartment ready for its running. PROS: 1. The brush that is on this does a great job at picking up dog fur. I know a lot of vacuums and previous models havent had an actual brush. I find that method leads to a lot of knotted up fur making it hard to clean. Thr brush is very easy to clean. 2. The Roomba is able to go under furniture couch, bed, etc), places where I previously was unable to reach with my vacuum. This has been a great help in preventing the tumble weeds that can happen when you have dogs that shed. 3. Convenience - I dont have to think about vacuuming anymore, I have created a schedule and I just let the Roomba do its thing. CONS: 1. It isnt Quiet - I realize that vacuuming in general is not a quiet job, but when you arent the one doing it, and the job take an hour to an hour and a half to complete, the decibel at which it is completed can be annoying. 2. You do need to prep your house - make sure that things are picked up off the ground, such as dog toys, shoes, electric cords, etc. The Roomba can get caught on these things.

We talked about buying one of these for years. Finally decided to give it a try. Easily programmed. We restricted it to our hard wood floors in a bedroom. Excellent results for over a few months now. We occasionally forget to close the door to the room and Rumba ends up wandering around 5 rooms in our home until the battery goes dead. When we get home we play the game of Find Rumba. Amazingly it does a really good job vacuuming Persian Rugs, bathroom rugs and intermediate pile wall to wall carpeting. Easy to empty the lint container. We run the device 3 xs per week. Always returns to the docking station. Rumba will make their money in the long run from consumers purchasing new cleaning brushes. Our Rumba brushes havent warn out yet but the day is coming. Hopefully the company will find an intelligent price point. It has worked extremely well and is a fun appliance to have around.

This is a great product, but definitely not as good as my vacuum. I do love the iRobot when I don’t have time to vacuum and I do schedule it for certain days which is very convenient. One thing you have to know is to clean it every time or every other time you use it or it won’t do a good job.

Good for the price, but cant direct it. Just started having issues not staying or connecting to the charging base.

It picks up a lot, It sometimes fails to return to the charger, or pushes the charger around instead of hooking up to it. It gets stuck on our Ikea chairs and on power cords, so I cant just let it do its thing. I wish I could program it to avoid the chairs. It seems to move about randomly instead of in a grid or in some logical order. This means that it repeats the same areas instead of covering more areas, so it doesnt always get every spot. It has become a game where we stand in its way to get it to turn away from the chairs. Picks up pine needles, pet hair and leaves well.

I picked up the 692 because it was suppose to be great with dog hair. I didnt even have a huge job for it: one 400sf room with medium pile carpet where our two Anatolian Shepherds hang out during the day. Right out of the gate, it became clear that this vacuum simply cant handle pet hair on carpet. It didnt pick up all of it, and part of what it did pick up was left in two neat parallel rows behind it. (And as anyone whos had a Roomba problem will tell you, Roombas support is the absolute worst.) Theres just no point in using it for pet hair on carpet, because youll end up vacuuming the next morning anyway. Unable to return it without paying a ridiculous restocking fee (my fault for buying something that wasnt Prime-eligible), I moved it to the hardwood floors in our dining room. It does a decent job there, although I still have to regularly untangle pet hair from the undercarriage. Oh, and about once every four days, its high-tech cliff sensor fails and it gets stuck on the edge of the step down from our dining room. Pros: - Reasonably quiet - Bump-and-go seems to work fairly well (although has become stuck under a chair a couple of times) - Useful app - Decent cleaning on hardwood - Edge brush works well for floor edges on hardwood Cons: - Useless for pet hair on carpet - Cliff sensor doesnt always work - Requires regular manual cleaning of pet hair from undercarriage - Having to manually take the filter out and knock dirt off it when emptying is annoying

I just installed tile in my house and I am constantly sweeping dust and hair. I would like to say that it is dog hair, but I shed more than a Golden. The vacuum serves its purpose. Things that I like: saves me time and the app is good. Things I dont like: Brush stopped working on day 2 because like I said, I shed like a Golden. Husband had to take brush part apart and pull all the hair. It was caught on the wheels, brush, you name it. It has gotten stuck a few times under tables, and sofa. I wont run it when I am not home. I have to block several rooms in the house because once it gets in there, it goes around and around and around. Recommendation: I think I would do more research on different brands and models. Women have long hair and it can be just about everywhere, so not sure if there is a model that can help with this problem.

It does a terrific job climbing up on to my rugs from the hardwood, and over bits of trim between rooms. It manages the cat fur tumbleweeds all over my house. It avoids falling down the stairs every time. I have about 800 square feet on my main floor, and the robot gets that job tackled in about 70 minutes. About one out of a dozen times it will get hung up on my pedestal style dining table. It goes up the pedestal foot like a ramp, it’s wheels come off the floor and it hangs there helpless. Then it calls me for help. No big. I wish it had a lower profile so it could clean under my couch. That feels like a couch problem though, not a robot problem. I occasionally wish I’d splurged on a model with mapping so I could ask it to clean a specific room while I’m not in it. That sounds like a me problem though, not a robot problem. A lot of reviews complain about things that I feel are lack of maintenance. Low suction- replace the filter. Not picking up hair any more- clean or replace the brush. The spinny bit that cleans along the baseboard isn’t spinning- take it off and clean it. Not charging- clean the contacts. The parts are cheap. The maintenance is easy. Take care of your Roomba and it will take care of you.
