Greater than one weekWe bought a roomba about a year ago after holding off for a long time. I had heard that they were noisy and weren’t very effective. I was so wrong! We run our robot every day in the middle of the night, and it has changed our lives. Our apartment is so much less dusty, and our newly adopted cat has not triggered our allergies, much of which I attribute to our little robot. Every house should have one of these. Ours is one of the least expensive and it is amazing.

> 3 dayThis vacuum is what we needed! With two hairy dogs the vacuum does a great job keeping the floors cleaner! The robot doesn’t seem to remember floor plans or where it’s home is. It seems like a drunk vacuuming but does get everywhere eventually! We supplement using our Dyson once a week just to get a deep cleaning but the Roomba does a great job.

> 3 dayI live in a single floor apartment with berber carpets and tile floors, just me, no pets. This is perfect for what I need and when it works it does the job, but... Its like watching a toddler with ADD run the vacuum and it gets sidetracked. It will stop and play with a rug on occasion or just hang out in an endless loop in a corner. Sometimes I come home and its just sitting in the middle of the floor, lost in thought I guess? It runs while I am gone and finishes properly enough times during the week that it does a good job, and it was a good price when I bought it. So I cant complain about the times I have to pick it up and put it back on its charger. The messages I get sent about it being stuck on a cliff and the the odd places I find it stuck are comical enough to make it worth it. Lol

15-04-2025I was pleasantly surprised on how well this unit performs given that it lacks the advanced mapping features. Pros - it doesnt get stuck... often. - it does a decent job cleaning the carpet and the smooth/hard surface flooring - noise levels are good given the size of the motor and the fact is is a vacuum - alerts you via push notifications on your phone in addition to the unit speaker when it gets stuck, lost or has another problem - Picks up all of the kibble my dogs drop around their bowls and keeps on trucking... Cons - Lacks advanced mapping features so it must navigate the home blind and learn on the fly each time. This feature is available is more expensive models so this con is not a surprise. The negative is that in order to get this feature on the iRobot it requires a model that is $300+ more expensive than the 692 - The dirt trap is too small, you will need to empty it after EVERY job. Maybe this will improve over time as it is getting under tables and places my upright vacuum could not reach. The unit may be finding honey holes of dust and dirt for the moment, but in either case, emptying the trap is easy and quick. They do make units with the ability to dump the trap into a larger trash can built into the charging station, but that model is $300 more expensive. For that price, I will empty it myself... - The 692 model has a hard time finding its way back home to charge. Ive tried a couple of locations for the base in an effort to improve on this, but it fails to find its way home more often than it succeeds. Summary : For the price I paid on Amazon Prime days ($199) I feel like the 692 is a good unit. It has its quirks, but at under $200 I feel it was a worthwhile purchase. I wish it has the advanced mapping features, but in no way would I say those are worth a $300+ upcharge to move to the 900 series models. Time will tell how well it continues to function, but I would definitely recommend this an an entry point model to see if you are happy with how it cleans before dropping substantially more money on a better model. Im happy with what the unit can do and was aware that it was basic in nature so the quirks were expected.

> 3 dayTLDR: I recommend for day to day maintenance. Keep small things off of floors, keep things with tassels up. Sometimes it will miss spots. I just run it again. You can see in the pics how much it actually sucks up. I tend to vacuum at the very least once weekly with my regular vacuum. I live in a 722 square foot apartment with 2 rooms. We have 2 cats and a 6 year old. We keep our apartment pretty clean and would vacuum once a day. Since getting new jobs we haven’t been able to vacuum so our carpets accumulate cat hair and dust. Our apartment is very very dusty. The roomba has definitely helped out with this. I have scheduled it to run every day at 9am and it does just that. It’s gotten stuck a few times on tassels of a blanket that was down and a cat toy but other than that it can easily navigate over cords n such. If it gets stuck it will say out loud that it’s stuck and also send a notification to your phone from the roomba app. A con that I have noticed so far is sometimes it will miss my kitchen or only get half of it. I just run it again. Other than that for an older model and doing the basics of what I need I give it 4 stars. We will see when I move in a year or so to an actual house if it will do well there. I will update.

> 3 dayI debated buying one of these robotic vacuum cleaners for years. I was deterred by the price, and also overwhelmed by the variety of models. I finally bit the bullet and bought this model, since it was on a price deal of $199 and offered me 5 interest free payments. Deal! The set up was quite easy! I downloaded the app, and let it go. I named it Hazel and off she went.... and bumped... and did all kinds of willy nilly zig-zagging. We have laminate flooring throughout the majority of our 1200 sq.ft. home. Hazel had trouble navigating underneath my dining room table-- as the design was too narrow for her to get underneath. The chairs were also a maze to navigate, and she kept getting stuck on the corner of my couch. Ive since had to put a stool in that area, so it doesnt get stuck. We have thick carpeting in our master bedroom, so I wasnt expecting much. I was impressed that Hazel went underneath the bed (a place I rarely ever vacuum) and did a pretty good job in that room. We have an area rug in our living room, and its no problem going from laminate floors to the rugs. I love that! Hazel has some difficulty returning back to home base, but Im guessing thats because it has to navigate past my dining room set to get there (I need to figure out a new place for home base). Once the job was completed, I was amazed at how much dog hair and dust was in there. LOTS!! Thats the real reason I wanted a robotic vacuum... our short-haired dog sheds lot. My hallways doesnt have that dirty/dusty look any longer. Of course, I still have to run my bad boy vacuum cleaner! However, Hazel does a pretty good job of maintaining dust and dog hair free floors. I just hope that Hazel lives a long life, because shes a good little helper.

> 3 dayI received this on Christmas and on January 7th the side brush stopped spinning, I am so bummed! I took it apart and found some debris but I didnt think it was enough to cause a malfunction. Upon further research it looks like the side brush motor has already burned out and needs replacing.

Greater than one weekA bit of context. Ive owned 3 different Neato Robotics models for over 6 years and had a brief flirtation with Eufy RoboVac 11. I stopped buying from Neato because theyre incapable of building one that can take a 5 day per week schedule for more than 2 years before failure. The Eufy seemed like a cheap toy, lacking important features and destined to fail. I returned it after running it twice. The Roomba 692 is every bit as stupid as the Eufy. It uses the same random bounce method of navigation where it staggers about like a drunken sailor bouncing off obstacles and getting stuck in the same places over and over until you physically block access or move the bot. It has no barrier system to prevent it from getting into places it shouldnt. It does no mapping of the room and cant be told not to get lost under the bed indefinitely. It flatly refuses to vacuum our area rugs. The rugs are a light gray on a dark brown floor and they trigger the drop sensors causing the bot to avoid them. If you block off everything but the main living space it will do a halfway decent job. My wife hates the pieces of wood I use to prevent it from going to areas it cant navigate. If the bedroom doors are left open it will invariably run out of battery before it locates the base again. This leads to really annoying games of hide and seek with a dead bot that cant play the find me sound anymore. Where did it get lost this time? Under the sofa? Behind the curtains? Under a dresser? Did it lock itself in the closet again? Hey, Roomba! Its 2021, you dont have to stay in the closet anymore! Ive had it for about a week. Im having a tough time deciding if I should just return it and pay the premium for another bot that can navigate properly or just resign myself to the fact that there are no good vacuum bots to be had for $200 or less. Prime Day saving brought this down to that point. But I really dont want to spend a lot of my time babysitting a hopelessly brain-dead bot.

10-04-2025I am very pleased with my vacuum. It does a great job on my hardwoods and transition well three to the rugs. It’s very easy to clean once your finished vacuuming. Comes with great filters that are easy to clean as well.

> 3 dayHad I written a review when I first purchased the item it would have been 5 starts! We were really excited to get this unit after doing a lot of research before purchasing the iRobot as there are a number of options available. We are a 2 person family with no children, no pets and no carpets, we have hardwood floors throughout our home. We keep all our home appliances well maintained and took great care with this unit, even purchasing replacement brushes and rollers and filters to make sure that we had them on hand when they needed to be replaced. We purchased the iRobot in July of 2022 and less than a year later, in April, had to replace the side bush module as it stopped working and the brush wouldnt spin and kept falling off. Then in May, we had to replace the main roller module as the iRobot would start its cycle and then stop completely. Honestly this is not something we expected with the iRobot. And now we are having difficulty charging, even after it returns to its base. We have cleaned the sensors on the docking station and on the unit and we keep hearing Charge iRobot even when it is on its base - that voice will drive you crazy! We have to keep moving the iRobot about until a connection is made and it starts charging. We are basically rebuilding the entire unit and its not even a year old! Obviously, were on our own when the warranty is up in July of this year!!!
