not very warm for an expensive item....it is constructed like a tank though.

It worked well for the first seven months or so and now at nine months it’s barely lukewarm. It’s November and my African Grey is getting cold. I need to find a better product. Update: I unplugged it and plugged it back in and it’s working again. Very warm to the touch now. Whew!

First I want to say this is a bit overpriced for just essentially being a heated plate. My 23 year old sun conure was very skeptical of this when I first put it by his perch, he avoided it for a week! But eventually he realized that it was warm and I would start catching him sleeping at night pushed up against it. One down side is that there is absolutely no on/off switch, you have to unplug it if you want to turn it off, which for the price point is a bit disappointing.

My 27 year old cockatiel was a little leary of the heater at first, but moved closer to it each day. Now he sleeps up against it. So glad I purchased this and was patient letting him get used to it. Great product!

I have a 14 year old Green Cheek Conure with anxiety problems and a plucking habit as a result. This leaves his little tummy and back cold. I decided to splurge on this if it even had the possibility to provide him some comfort. Within about 45 minutes, he was already cozing up next to it. He sleeps next to it every night too.He really enjoys it and I think its the best birdie product ever for birds who need a little more security or warmth. Spend the money because its safe and convenient and so worth their comfort! *** Edit A few days after writing my review, my conure chewed through the part of the wire that isnt protected. I was terrified that she ingested some of the copper, but thank God she didnt. I HIGHLY recommend getting a little pvc pipe part and covering that part up.

I think both the K&H Heated Perches and these Snuggle Pads are wonderful and I can`t recommend them enough. I created a warm corner for my White Bellied Caique with a heated perch and two snuggle pads. She loves that corner and that`s where she sleeps and I get great piece of mind knowing that she is nice and warm. These are cheap insurance considering what an Avian Vet charges to treat a sick bird.

Great product!! My parakeet was scared of it at first. After about a week she is near it and loved it!!

I use this during the winter time for my two cockatiels. They haven’t messed with it. Since I put it in their cage they changed sleeping spots and now sleep right next to it. I leave it on 24/7. My only complaint is I wish it was warmer. I can feel it emits heat but not enough. Really wish it was a little warmer.
